Description
Manssur 1.1

This map is a custom city Sassanid map which means it’s not a real city but of course I try to keep the authenticity and designing it just as well as one. This cities special features include having a hybrid attribute to it having an outer and inner city and not only that but the city / fortress itself also includes 2 floors as well making this city quite an undertaking to siege. This includes 4 victory points and 2 minor points, 2 outer and 4 inner, first on the inside is the forts grand plaza on the first floor and the second one is right at the grand palace entrance on the second level, minor points are the plaza at the back of the palace on the first floor and at the shrine which connected to the fort.

The bridge for now unfortunately doesn’t work so you can’t capture the minor point on the small hill connected to the fort.

Problems are typical ones like the AI although fixes are heard to be on the way soon gladly. So for time being the procedure is usual with making AI have catapults and no actual equipment and same should go for you as an attacker, as a defender you can deploy but not move on walls glitch is still there.

To find this map:
> Go to custom battles
> Select cities
> Under presets menu scroll and you’ll find the maps name

Thanks to all support and continued support esp. from friends ton really appreciate it esp. new ideas and inspirations!

Update 1.1:
Siege AI has been implemented but walls still are bugged, also city has been renamed to accompany a more Persian name through analyzing other past Persian city names and is now named The City of Manssur.

Update 1.2:
Fixed the gap in the back areas to prevent defender from leaking out, walls problem still bieng investigated but I did add bastion defences to the outer wall.

How about recreating Carthage, but on an Egyptian style?

Awesome, how about you create a massive fantasy Egyptian style city? Like they show in Hollywood?

There seems to be an issue with being able to march up and down the hills around the Palace, allowing one to enter the city without any siege engines or burning the gates. There are two points were this happens allowing someone to flank around the left and right sides of the palace. While two players would be able to ignore this the AI doesn't, which leads to interesting situations, like defending the gates from enemy reserves who left the palace, marched out side the walls and attacked from behind.

In relation to the mistake which is made due to some historical misunderstandings; the use of the word ‘Persian’: ‘Persian’ can correctly be used referring to the language ‘Parsi’ (now arabicized to Farsi). But in fact, it makes no sense when used referring to the people of Iran. It is not meant to make a political statement here, therefore, it is just enough to say that Iranians based on Iranian ancient texts have been called Iranian because the country has been called Iran (the land of Aryans). Persians were one of the major tribes of Aryans who were one of the founders of the country, Iran. That is why their primary settlement in Iran has been called Pars (now the arabicized version, Fars, is used).
