Description
Update: 28 July 2017 Now converted to Boreal so it can have the Boreal with Snowcapped Mountains map theme. Images 2 to 8 are what it now looks like now. Kinda nice!

CLICK HERE FOR SNOWFALL EDITION: It's now winter in Transylvania, so if you have Snowfall, enjoy the sights at the new edition here: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=627196023

To use this map, you can use any map theme that uses sand as snow.

The Castle of Bran sits high on a promontory that guards the narrow pass connecting Transylvania with the lands to the south. Although it is commonly known as Dracula's Castle, Prince Vlad Dracul only visited a few times. Prince Vlad, the real person behind the fantasy figure, was a great hero of the nation.

Much like the legend, this map is also dual in many ways: part fantasy, part real map. It's also two environments in one: winter is settling in to the high elevations, while the lower areas of Transylvania still enjoy a green but crisp time of year. Yes, it's Halloween. Be sure you're safe and sound before the last rays of the sun disappear behind the mountains >:)

But wait! There's more! You have not one promontory, the real one, but two, a bonus fantasy promontory! There are also plenty of overlook sites and smoothed or leveled areas low and high, one of which is at the highest point on the map at the top of the Bucegi mountain, which looms over the pass in center stage position.

You can have all this for the amazing price of 0.00 plus a small shipping fee of 0.00!

There is enough flat land to locate large airports, and a medium city, but most of the map is nicely flowing land, with dramatic mountain backdrops as well as access routes to build up high. There are even multiple snowy places for ski slopes and ski resort villages! Dirt roads work best for hilly areas and look best in the snow, too, since they don't have grass or green trees.

In order to give you a sense of the majesty and great beauty of the lands to the south of Brașov, I changed the scale. The true to life scale version I started with had *none' of the mountains you see, which I am sure you agree would have been a great sin. You can see them in real life, so let's bring them into the map. So this way we get to experience the land in all its splendor, the best ranges captured in one map that has two very different microclimates, as you see in the real life photos of the area.

So, if you are from this region, I apologize for it not being exactly accurate, but the intent was to convey the majesty and spirit of your homeland, which I hope I have managed to capture. Yes, the sun is going backwards direction... I just figured that out after watching the first sunset over my city. "Wait a minute... that's not west..." So let's just add that as one more fantasy feature.

All services included, there is even one shipping lane that manages to squeeze up one of the rivers. That's it for shipping, though, because come on, this is in the middle of Transylvania :)

There are several full power, deep water little "lakes" (that are actually hidden as part of the river), one of them is in the river at the start area. It's a little wider there. I'd use the big river for water intake, and the small river for sewage outflow. Let the City of Brașov deal with your mess lol. See the image with the water spawn circles noted for precise locations of the deep wells. Beyond that start area, you will discover several very deep lakes around the map, all of which have water spawns.

Hydro Dam capable, across the mountains from the rest of the map, so it will not flood your city at all. See last three images for help on where to put dam and optimal height

CITY FORTRESS: It doesn't come with them, but they are available in the workshop. What is ready-made are the two castle town promontories in the center of the map (at the pass) and which are flattened out on top, ready for your castle.

The walls and towers are all from the Carcassonne walls pack, easy to use and ploppable anywhere. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/?id=465594216

Here's the best custom brushes out there. OWL shared them with us all, they are amazing. http://imgur.com/a/YZXJ2 They are super tiny as all brushes are, just 64x64 pixels, so it looks like there's nothing there but they are indeed there. http://imgur.com/a/YZXJ2
Download them to the brushes folder which is next to the heightmap folder
