Hammer X

Description
In order to combat the growing Xengatarn threat in the wake of humanity's decimated fleet a joint Fanatic/Freedom special ops team of combat engineers was formed in an attempt to convert a Hammer cruiser for covert operations. Despite not being even remotely as inconspicuous as was intended the ship received several upgrades including new anti-missile algorithms as well as further hull reinforcement, though the latter had to be installed throughout the interior in order to maintain it's derelict outward appearance resulting in tighter corridors and reduced cargo capacity. During the final stages of it's development an Order representative was brought on board for military consultation. His only comment was "Add a nuke".

Mod Version: 1.2.0

- Mod now comprised of 3 individual ships, the only difference being the skins. They all have new distinct icons and are named slightly differently from one annother. X-W, X-R, and X-B, respectively.

- When I tossed around the idea of adding mines I didn't count on the cannon not changing orientation. In light of trying to play with mines like this and testing various missiles facing the rear I've determined that the pros of facing the weapon to the rear of the ship far outweigh the cons. The cannon still *looks* as though it's facing forward, mind you, but I'm not making duplicates of every missile and mine in the game just to fix that ;)

@BelPontas Yeah I got a little carried away with the writing... The stats are all in the pictures I've uploaded above, though. The only difference between the models is the skins.

A little hard to see the stats of the ship in game without buying it, there is a lot of text that takes up the room.

Icons are a good option, or just adding a (Black) or (Gold) after the name, really. Or both!

And yeah, not liking the general mine usability is why I removed them from BTC for now. When I put them back in they'll be high-velocity projectiles but with a high speed delta, so they move away from the ship quickly but then bleed off velocity before coming to rest in space. Should make forward-firing (or at least aimable) mine launchers viable. Plus it opens up the door for 'pseudo-mines- like launchable turrets, though mine will be dumb turrets like my drones to start with. :)

Good job with the work thus far, BTW! The electroplating mod seemed a little on the powerful side but it's nice to see more modders enterining the community, especially with a multitude of works. I'd like to start a Steam group for all of us one of these days so we can put our heads together, if desired.

@Hammish I was thinking about doing just that, actually, making them 3 seperate items within the one mod. Don't think I'll add to the description, though, it's already so long I have to place the hull at the top of the station storage just to keep it all on screen ><. The icons, though... a little tweak there could make them stand out nicely.

I still want to mess around with turning the missile/mine turret to face the rear for better mine deployment. Tracking missiles will still work fine I'm sure and nobody should want to be flying towards a deployed nuke, whereas using mines that deploy forward has so far proven pretty useless. Maybe after I get back from my appointment with my tattooist today I'll make the changes for the skins and see how that works :)

You could just put all three in the game as three separate ships, too. Just copy the .xml three times, give each a unique idea, and put something in the description about which paint job it is. :)

Even makes that skin that someone wants precisely all the more precious to find! Though it does have the downside of potentially making the hull more common in shops.
