Kamloops, BC (UPDATED)

Description
I've seen Kelowna, Vernon, and the GVA all published on the workshop, figured I ought to give my city some representation! Situated at the intersection of both the North and South Thompson rivers and the Yellowhead and Trans-Canada highways, Kamloops is one of many cities found in the semi-arid Thompson-Okanagan region of British Columbia's southern interior.

Couldn't fit the whole city into 1081x1081, but I managed to get southern Westsyde, all of the North Shore and Brocklehurst, the western tip of Valleyview, downtown, part of Mission Flats, upper and lower Sahali, Aberdeen, Pacific Way, and part of Rose Hill. That highway turnaround in the south is the Princeton-Kamloops highway, but as it's a small, minor highway I didn't feel all 6 lanes were justified. But I did add the connection there nonetheless!

(UPDATED) Added a couple offramps I had forgotten to place at the Yellowhead/Trans Canada interchange.

@Audi R8

I don't plan on updating the map further since much of the city still doesn't fit on it (It's VERY spread out/sprawled for its size due to the history of it), and was intended more as a "Make your own layout" type of map.

Nice that is great to hear for investment properties in the surrounding area.

Correction: ground on the tower complex was broken about 2 weeks ago, back in mid-March

Forgot I'd made this...

Yea, development here has been absolutely bonkers over covid. I think at peak there were 11 cranes up simultaneously at different sites across the city. Still booming too. Ground's about to break on a dual-tower & condo complex downtown, and a whole bunch of other apartment and condo projects are going through proposal or approval processes right now. Even the University is building its' own residential subdivision.

Don't discount it, Kamloops' population was significantly higher than Kelowna from founding until the early 1990's when Kelowna had a boom. The same thing can happen here, just need the right circumstances and investment in development.

So many great ideas! I'm just worried that no one will move in, Kamloops is so old, and getting older; not a lot of potential jobs for younger families either. Kamloops has always been such a suburban town. Densifying, while I'd love to see it happen, might not be well accepted by the general public.
