LAC-10C Crimson Dove - Cargo Aircraft

Description
The Crimson Dove
A small large grid cargo ship.

The LAC-10C Crimson Dove is a small transport designed to operate in harsh atmospheres. It has been built prioritizing ease-of-use and cost-efficiency, while providing adequate autonomy and crew comfort. The Crimson Dove is the sister craft of the LAC-10E Columba, the expeditionary variant.

The intended role of the LAC-10C is to run trading routes between ground stations. As a cargo transport, the LAC-10C has a higher MTOW than the E variant and can be easily modified to further ncrease payload. More thrusters can be installed under the snub wings or replacing armor blocks, and some side thrusters can be re-oriented downwards.

The Crimson Dove is equipped with a survival kit and pressurized cabin, so it can support an engineer in planets lacking oxygen. However, it has no O2 nor power generation, requiring some form of outpost or base with a power source and H2/O2 generator. It has no weapons either, but the LAC-10 design allows for easy modification or replacement of the ship's systems to suit user needs.

@Echo Mande I encourage you to try it yourself! Part of the fun of using this ship is that it's customizable, so it's easy to add and remove things from it without taking it all appart. The prototype had a thruster arrangement like you suggested (you can see it in the LAC-10E's workshop page), but the normal atmo thruster has a little more thrust and is a bit more efficient, as well as being lower PCU.

Have you tried replacing the front windows with a bridge helm and bridge side plates?
Also, you could probably replace the rear thruster with three flat thrusters right behind the reverse thrusters. The space freed up could house the gyroscope and something else.
