This mod is in beta. It works in singleplayer and the DevKit and is currently being tested on larger servers alongside other mods. Elements may change and some interactions may be unstable. If you find issues please report them on discord.
Use at your own risk.

What is Domain's Magic?
Domain?s Magic is a magic system originally created for the Divine Domain server. It adds a casting system, multiple spell types, and unique elemental effects. You are welcome to use it on other servers, but note: damage and balance are tuned for Divine Domain and may require adjustment to fit your server. For now there is a global multiplier that you can set increasing/decreasing spell damage.

Quick features

- Multiple spell archetypes: single-target projectiles, AOE projectiles, ground traps, and ultimates.
- Elemental effects - each element includes unique DOTs or some effects (not just raw damage).
- Casting system with cast times, movement slowdown while casting and damage scaling from the Authority stat.
- Admin global damage multiplier to quickly change balance for your server.


How to use the admin/player settings
You can change a global multiplier (server admin only) to scale all spell damage. Open the game console and run:
datacmd ddmagic
This opens a simple admin menu. The multiplier accepts decimal values - for example, 0.5 halves spell damage. Minimum allowed value is 0.01.
Players can now also access player menu the same way by typing datacmd ddmagicplayer which will allows you to turn off or on the casting aura VFX if its too much for you.

Design notes

- Some spells have cooldowns, others do not.
- You cannot cast spells while in combat or while wielding a weapon - the system encourages playing as a full mage and choosing the right spell for the situation.
- You can move while casting, but movement speed is heavily reduced and casts can be interrupted.
- I'm focusing on polish of the base system first; expect more spells and refinements in future updates.


Known issues / Compatibility

- This mod is beta - issues may occur, especially when used with other mods!
- If you run into problems, let me know! It should work in singleplayer as well if you want to test it yourself first but the mod is designed for dedicated servers.
- Note: Pulling your bracelet off solves a lot of temporary issues.
- Everything is custom made and this mod doesn't overwrite any base assets.

Mod Order

- Mod doesn't overwrite anything so its safe to put it anywhere and follow other mods guides instead. Your best bet is to put it somewhere at the top or on top of your gameplay mods.
- Mods that overwrite base assets in heavy ways might be incompatible or cause crashes.

There are no plans for thrall version at this time.

The mod is very interesting, and most importantly, spells fire in the chosen direction, unlike many mods where direction is locked. Are there plans for a thrall version of spells?

Can confirm, working fine on my server as well, eta on new magic lores and elements? The magic in this mod is very smooth would love to see it expanded
