TL;DR
Weapon break sounds too quiet or missing?
This mod (a) restores and improves the hidden vanilla Sound Options so you can tune every game sound.
No new sounds, no magic—just better control.

What you get
  • Sound Preview – Click a ▶️ to hear any sound (works in Main Menu).
  • Search – Type “whistle”, “harmonica”, “UI click”, etc., and adjust just that sound.
  • Favorites Tab – Pin the sounds you tweak often and adjust them together.
  • Alphabetical List – Everything is organized and easy to find.
  • Global Slider (Filtered) – Filter first (e.g., search “break”), then adjust all matches at once.
  • Per-Sound Sliders – Each sound can be louder/softer on its own).
  • Live Tooltips – Every slider shows its exact value.
  • Safe Sync – The same sound appears in multiple places? Sliders stay in sync everywhere.
  • Saves to the Original INI – Your changes persist just like normal game settings.

Why this exists
The vanilla game actually has per-sound controls, but they’ve been hidden for a while. This mod re-enables and improves them, so you can quickly fix problem sounds (like weapon breaks) or tune the whole audio feel of your game.

F.A.Q.

“Are these new sounds?”
No. You’re adjusting the existing game sounds—just with a better UI.

“Can I make only a few specific sounds louder?”
Yes. Search the sound name (e.g., “Harmonica”, “Whistle”, “Break”), preview it, and nudge the slider.

“Will this break other mods?”
It plays nicely with most mods. If another mod also edits the hidden sound UI or writes its own sound settings, you might see duplicate controls. In practice, conflicts are rare.

"Wait what? Vanilla Soundoptions?"

Yes, these are the vanilla sound options—I’ve overhauled the original settings. The goal is to let you adjust every individual sound in the game. The developers have kept this feature hidden for quite some time; I’ve re-enabled it and improved the interface. Sounds are sorted alphabetically, and there’s a search bar so you can fine-tune specific effects (for example: how loud should your whistle be? your harmonica?).

Bad news after reviewing it: there’s no way to adjust specific ambient audio or music via an in-game slider—everything is routed through the vanilla master sound controls.

There’s also no way to target a particular ambient sound. The only option would be to modify the core audio assets to make them less noisy—but that’s easier said than done, since those sound files aren’t publicly accessible.

I think there what is listed there aren't ambient sounds, they are handled somewhere else.
You'll mainly find ui and ingame SFX but not ambient sounds.

MAYBE - I can add this in the future into the soundoptions if I find out how to add or collect more sounds!

I'll let you know here.

I'm busy with creating new stuff at the moment.
I just improved the vanilla one, I didn't expanded it --YET

This is a absolute game changer for me, such a great mod! I was wondering if you could help finding some settings, couldnt find a "rain" volume and is there a like a kill volume? i found the crit volume, would it fall under that? again amazing mod!
