Description

-Only Male Warlord, Female Theocrat and Male Necromancer have new outfits.
-Currently uses human defense tower.
-Currently uses a variant of human Deity-tier economic governance.
-Chinese translation is in the works!

In the far east an empire prepares a search for Werlac and his conspirators to prevent the return of the Wizard Kings which will spell doom for all of Athla.

Inspired by a single line of lore from the original Age of Wonders as well as Chinese history and folklore, Fateful Expedition provides a whole new playable race to Age of Wonders 3; The Sherians.

Gameplay-wise, Sherians focus on varied ranged attacks and pikemen. They are resistant to Shock but weak to Blight, creating an interesting mix-up in the power dynamic of the elements. Their core support unit has a ranged albeit not too strong healing ability and their T2 cavalry and T3 special are all about clever positioning and use their special abilities at the right time.

Situated in the far east of the world, the Sherian Empire have some trading routes but no direct contact with the Commonwealth, meaning that class research will provide very different-looking versions of familiar units or completely different ones.

Lore-wise, the race is mentioned indirectly in Age of Wonders 1:
"The most common inhabitant of the land is man. The youngest of the races, Humans have only been present in the land with the other ancient races for a few centuries. Still, Humans have spread across all parts of the land and have become varied in appearance and nature. Their adaptability allows them to live and thrive in nearly any climate."
As there are references to landmasses beyond the known ones throughout the games there is a huge possibility that a continent lies beyond, perhaps hosting an empire or two. Not that we will ever know since in 4 Athla is... well... not itself anymore.

The mod also adds a whole bunch of new player icons, not all themed around the Sherians!

More updates! I also added to the mod description the other thing the mod does; a whole bunch of player icons! Some are themed around other races and could be great for whatever leader you had in mind to make them more unique.
this is so cool!

What it refers to is the varied nature of them; physical, blight and fire + spirit are all present with their core units. You can pick a ranged unit and use that to counter a specific threat and another type in a different situation. Additionally, class units sometimes also get bonuses to their ranged attack, such as the unique Dragon Tank which has a secondary attack to use against enemies immune to fire.

Gameplay-wise, Sherians focus on varied ranged attacks and pikemen you report above. But they only have 2 level 1 archer types. Will there be more ?

There are two more creatures you can encounter in the wild but the race is the big thing.
Is this only new race, or are there more changes?

First two military governances work perfectly! Going through them slowly but the others use the same base which should work well!

Military Governances may have been fixed! Save before picking one and report results if there is something wrong!

Seems like most of the military governances are broken due to horrible coding on the part of Triumph as they all require unique setup structures only found through trial and error. I will work on them, I have put in a message warning players that they are broken for now. The AI may still pick them but they will do nothing for them.

The first one works perfectly, I think you just missed the damage increase. There is no ability icon.
The second I will fix. The way abilities are to be set up are different depending on which one for no reason so I must have picked the wrong one.
