GO TO
NORTHERN LIGHT

Among the icebergs stands the frosted gate to a haunting dungeon. You've slayed all the beasts and braved the frigid waves, but you're not forgetting something important, are you?

The "Ice Palace Glaceir" or "Isles of Northernlight", or so forth, from DELTARUNE. A distinct landmark in the SWORD ROUTE journey for the Shadow Mantle, brought to Rivals with a deluxe fidelity look.


Almost exactly 2 years ago I released a stage called "Ice Palace Glaceir" based on the Spamton Sweepstakes page of the same name (now renamed "Sweepstakes Glaceir"). Today I have the honor of "updating" that stage with knowledge of what the REAL Ice Palace Glaceir is like! And on that note, allow it to be something that can represent the whole first leg of the Sword Route playthrough in Rivals, in general. Also, today marks a decade of a certain original game-- happy birthday UNDERTALE!

This stage isn't 1-1 to its old version, which was meant to be just like Air Armada, instead it lacks the "pineapple" stage-shape and features an extra platform in the form of HERO_SWORD's raft! This raft only becomes active after someone gets KO'd the first time, but afterwards moves left and right along the water, like a mix between Yoshi's Story's "Randall" and the Julesvale platform.
When the final stock is reached, one can find out what gives these isles their name.

- This stage has a unique intro, and it may appear different for certain characters.

- In any case, someone is loving these flickering flames of combat, although, rest assured, your friend is always watching.

Lowkey I thought u made a typo when I first saw this upload but I felt bad mentioning it, I forgot Glaceir is spelled like that in DR LOL

Congrats, honestly it might be my favorite stage that doesn't fundamentally change the game's mechanics

Haha, that crash was surprisingly not intended. Just hotfixed that, thanks!

Glad you enjoy the intro variations, although to be clear with regular Noelle and the other Lightners the intro _is_ different-- they still use a red SOUL, although it's definitely not theirs (notice how it moves into place instead of being static). If you recall, a certain someone has the ability send over their red soul to someone else even over long distance :]

Didn't see anything out of the ordinary with the Noelle mod I have (will use the ohter one next) but it does crash the game when using Gaster, not sure wether or not that's intended

@EMA02 the ""cursors"" in the intro change for a few characters yes, its a similar list to what Hyuponia's "Surface Fallen" stage has going on :)
It accounts for most Undertale and Deltarune characters; if you wanna have fun experimenting check out the intro with the Noelle(s), Undertale characters and some other darkners

Yellow soul would be cool but (for now at least) the stage is mostly working with what's confirmed in Deltarune's world building, and the multi-colored human souls + the inverted monster soul symbols aren't confirmed to be in that world yet! Maybe in the future tho haha

I noticed that Ralsei uses a different symbol instead of the heart, did you code it? Or is it up to the character mod creator? It'd be cool if, for example, Clover had a yellow heart
