Crypto Coffins [Forked]

Description
< ======= Disclaimer ======= >
I am not the original author of this mod. I have forked and updated it for RimWorld 1.6. If the original author requests its removal, I will respectfully comply.

< ======= About ======= >
The Crypto Coffin is basically a cryptosleep casket but for corpses.

Great for funerals, meditation, or holding onto that special pawn until you find a resurrector serum.

If you also have RimCryptoEconomy (v1.6) installed, you can enable Crypto Mining Mode.
When enabled, the brain of the corpse inside will be used to mine crypto coins.

The catch?
No skeletons, no empty piles of bones. As long as the brain exists, even damaged, it works.

Yes, this means you can turn raiders into a crypto empire.
No, you definitely didn’t get that idea from me.

< ======= Features ======= >
  • Preservation: Keeps bodies perfectly frozen, no rot. Works like a grave or ritual spot.
  • Crypto Mining Mode (RimCryptoEconomy v1.6 required): Use corpses with brains as crypto miners. Select which coin to mine via right-click menu.
  • Mod Settings (RimCryptoEconomy & Xml Extensions required in v1.6)
  • Toggle to enable/disable Crypto Mining Mode with a simple gizmo.
  • Full progress bar gizmo to track mining.
  • Original mod errors and bugs have been fixed.
  • Compatible with vanilla rituals, meditation, and grave use.

< ======= FAQ ======= >
Q: Why fork it?
A: The original was great but buggy. It worked as a grave, but preservation was broken and caused errors.

This fork fixes that and adds optional RimCryptoEconomy support.

Q: Can I mine cryptocurrency on my dead pawn’s brain?
A: Yes. Install RimCryptoEconomy v1.6

Q: Is there a mod that allows me to put dead bodies inside a cryptosleep casket?
A: I recommend Mile’s continued version, found here.

bummer

Fixed certain issues with XML Extensions and RimCrypto integration, so things should run better now. Regarding VNPE. Because their system is way different from what I built, I decided not to add support. Believe me, I tried multiple times... It just wasn’t working out. :(

So, you’ll have to physically haul stuff to the coffin to fill the nutrient bar. Automatic filling through VNPE, isn’t going to happen here sadly. This update shouldn’t damage with any existing saves, but if it does, report it and I’ll do my best to address it.

Happy gaming!

epic

I’ll go and check that out, but most likely not atm. I’ll probably rewrite the code later as well, mainly because I don’t like some of the implementation.

I’ve learned some better techniques since adding optional support.

is the nutrient option compatible with Vanilla nutrient paste expanded ?

Ah, thank you! No problem :D

@Everyone
Added a nutrient requirement setting. (Still in a tricky development phase. Had a few sync issues, but it should work fine.)

Updated visuals for the mod settings and UI. Adjusted some systems behind the scenes to improve how certain features work on the modder side. Miscellaneous improvements and tweaks.

Those without RimCryptoEconomy or RimCryptoEconomy + XML Extensions shouldn't really be affected by these changes.

Ah, interesting idea. Will add as an option in mod settings next update

If the coffin forces the corpse's brain to do mining labor, then it should require a supply of nutrients, like a Biosculptor pod.
I hope this mod is improved to increase realism.
