Overview
A quick and dirty guide just meant to show how to tell which Hidden Boss is which, since I've seen a lot of people asking about it. If you want a more complete overview of MDE, refer to this in-progress guide I am helping out with creating. I might port it over to a steam guide once its complete.

Cultivation: Mirror Dungeon Extreme (Work in Progress)[docs.google.com]

Or you can also refer to my other steam guides, which give basic overviews of a variety of Mirror Dungeon topics.

Statistics

There are four Hidden bosses available in MDE:
  • Lei Heng
  • Ricardo
  • La Manchaland's Don Quixote
  • Kkomi Vergilius

Each of which has a 10% chance to replace any non-shop, non-boss, non-start position node on floors 11+. However, since floors 11+ only have Long Battles with 2 event nodes each, that means there are 10 possible nodes to be replaced - 2 per floor. There is an additional caveat that Hidden bosses cannot spawn on the same floor as one another, so this ends up with these percentage chances of getting a Hidden boss per full MDE run.

  • 34.87% to get 0 hidden bosses
  • 65.1% to get at least 1 hidden boss
    • 40.89 to get exactly 1 hidden boss
  • 24.2% to get at least 2 hidden bosses
    • 29.18 to get exactly 2 hidden bosses
  • 5.06% to get at least 3 hidden bosses
    • 4.50% to get exactly 3 hidden bosses
  • 0.553% to get at least 4 hidden bosses
How to Tell
You can also tell who the hidden boss is by looking at the weaknesses below the boss.

Lei Heng

Gluttony + Envy means you are getting Lei Heng as the boss fight, and thus For the Capo as your boss reward.

For the Capo

Tier: IV
Sin: Wrath
Type: Coin Power
Keyword: Tremor
Base Cost: 201

Allies' Plus Coin Skills: Gain Coin Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Coin Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

Allies' Minus Coin Skills: Gain Final Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Final Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

[Effects apply only to #1 Deployed Identity]
When using a Skill that spends Ammo, activate the following:
- Gain 3 Haste next turn (once per turn)
- On Hit: trigger Tremor Burst once (and consume 1 Tremor Count) (2 times per turn)
- On Hit after Clash Win: if target has both Burn and Tremor (including both Unique Burn and Unique Tremor), inflict Wrath damage equal to (Burn + Tremor). (2 times per turn).

At 4+ Wrath Reson., activate the following:
- Wrath Skills gain Coin Power +2 upon use.
- On Hit, if Ammo was spent, deal +30% damage.

Ricardo

Blunt means you are getting Ricardo as the boss fight, and thus Rules of the Middle as your boss reward.

Rules of the Middle

Tier: IV
Sin: Envy
Type: Coin Power
Keyword: Blunt
Base Cost: 201

Allies' Plus Coin Skills: Gain Coin Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Coin Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

Allies' Minus Coin Skills: Gain Final Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Final Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

Blunt Attack Type Base Skills: Coin Power +1; The Middle Identities gain Coin Power +2 instead.

When an ally is hit, all allies gain 2 Offense Level Up next turn (3 times per turn).

The following effects activate when there are 3 or more 'The Middle' Identities in the Encounter.

Combat Start: gain 1 Attack Power Up and 1 Protection for every Envy Reson. (max 3).

When The Middle Identity uses an Envy Base Attack Skill, convert its Coins to Unbreakable Coins, they take -50% damage, and gain 2 Blunt DMG Up this turn and next turn.

La Manchaland's Don Quixote and Kkomi Vergilius

No weaknesses means that you are getting either La Manchaland's Don Quixote OR Kkomi Vergilius as the boss fight, as both show as no weaknesses. This is likely to be changed in the future (Papa Don to Gluttony + Lust), but for now, its a gamble. You thusly would get either The Family's Resentment or Kkomi's Mini-Gift as your boss reward.

The Family's Resentment

Tier: IV
Sin: Lust
Type: Coin Power
Keyword: Bleed
Base Cost: 201

Allies' Plus Coin Skills: Gain Coin Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Coin Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

Allies' Minus Coin Skills: Gain Final Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Final Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

Doubles the amount of Bloodfeast generated in the Stage.

Skills that inflict Bleed Potency, Bleed Count, or Unique Bleed: After Attack, heal 30% of the HP damage dealt. (max 20)
* If a unit healed with the above effect, it gains 1 Attack Power Up at the next Turn Start (max 2)

For every 50 Bloodfeast Consumed (shared), all allies gain 1 Offense Level Up at the next Turn Start (max 5).
Each La Manchaland unit also gains 1 Offense Level Up for every 30 Bloodfeast Consumed (Total Bloodfeast consumed this Encounter) consumed by each unit (max 3)

Kkomi's Mini-Gift

Tier: IV
Sin: Gluttony
Type: Coin Power
Keyword: Keywordless
Base Cost: 201

Allies' Plus Coin Skills: Gain Coin Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Coin Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

Allies' Minus Coin Skills: Gain Final Power + (8 / # of Coins) (gains at least 1 Final Power, includes E.G.O Skills; rounded down).

On the first Turn Start of the Encounter, and on all allies who Substitute in, apply 3 Backup Candy.

If they did not consume Backup Candy in the previous turn, apply 1 Hunger at Turn Start.

Backup Candy:
Turn End: at less than 60% HP...
Heal 30% HP, heal 15 SP, lose 1 Backup Candy, and 1 Hunger
At 0 Stack, apply 1 Incandescent Indulgence, then expires.

Incandescent Indulgence:
Gain 30% base HP for this Encounter
Turn Start: fully heal HP and SP (once per Encounter).

Hunger:
Max Stack: 3
Turn End: gain 2 Offense Level Up and 1 Damage Up next turn for every Stack.
At max Stack(3), lose 5% HP at Turn End.
Beating a Hidden Boss
After you beat a Hidden boss, that boss can no longer show up again in that same MDE run. You also get 1000 Cost (before being modified by any Graces or cost Gifts), the relevant Gift, and all your sinners are fully revived and healed. The Gifts make it almost always worth it to attempt, unless you are SURE you cannot take the boss. Getting a free 8 Coin Power is amazing.

Remember the strategies against the normal boss versions of these! Use Bind against Lei Heng (though you might already have Gifts that do this), beat the hell out of Kkomi, and such. If you have recommendations on which ones of these Hidden bosses are easier or specific strategies against them, let me know and I'll put it up, but this was meant to just be a short and quick cheat sheet for picking who is who in the crowd.
Thanks for Reading
As always, thanks for reading, and leave any suggestions in the comments. This was a very short guide, so refer again to the Overview Section for my recommendations for where to go from here.

Good luck in Mirror Dungeon Extreme!

Actually one more thing, do we know if the 10% chance for a hidden boss to replace a node is triggered on picking the node or on spawning the floor, because if it's the latter it would mean that floor packs with two sets of 2 nodes you could miss the boss by choosing the wrong track.

Doing well on a Extreme run seems extremely dependent on getting a hidden boss's EGO gift on the first few floors. Doing a 50 adversity run without any was absolutely brutal, my advice is if you don't get any by the end of floor 12-13 you should probably abort the achievement and stop taking adversities.

Kinda a shame that a multi hour run can be "ruined" by getting unlucky at a 34.87% chance; actually it's worse than that as a floor 15 boss is pointless (there's only one boss left and it's easier than the hidden one).

I was wondering how they spawned since none appeared, guess I was just unlucky

Might make a four corners image of this later, but for now; lazy.
