What are EX Gifts?
EX Gifts are Mirror Dungeon E.G.O Gifts that diverge from the norm in how to acquire them. You can't fuse directly into them, you cannot find them in the shop, and you cannot have them as a floor reward. Instead, each EX Gift has their own unique obtainment conditions you need to fulfill (and then get lucky) before you can actually get them.

EX Gifts are NOT meant to be regularly obtained in every run. They are nice additions to have, but you should not have the mindset that they are guaranteed. This guide is just meant to make farming them for E.G.O Gift Compendium Completion easier.
What are THE EX Gifts?
There are currently two EX E.G.O Gifts in Mirror Dungeon.

How Do I Raise My Chances?

Lets go gift by gift, since the methods differ, though they can be used together.

None of these methods will GUARANTEE you the EX Gift. They just raise your chances so instead of doing 10000 Mirror Dungeon runs, you only have to do 100. (Obvious Hyperbole is Obvious).
Wealth

Wealth is one of the harder EX Gifts to get due to Events not being able to repeat, so you only get at most one 1% shot per Mirror Dungeon. And thats if the Bizarre Machine Event spawns at all! So what we will do to increase your chances is map out a route with the highest chance of getting the Bizarre Machine Event to spawn.

There are two strategies we can use together here:
  • Pick Theme Packs with less Events Choices that can spawn, thus making the possible pool smaller.
  • Artificially lower the pool of Events by aiming your run towards a specific Sin Affinity.

We will be using both strategies.

These will be in the style of
Theme Pack (Event Count)

First, lets go over the best general theme packs for condition 1:

Normal:
F1:
  • Nest, Workshop, and Technology (16)
  • All Other F1 Theme Packs (27)

F2:
  • To be Crushed / Pierced / Cleaved (20)
  • Nest, Workshop, and Technology (24)
  • S.E.A.(24)
  • Lake World (27)
  • All Other F2 Theme Packs (38)

F3:
  • Emotional Repression (10)
  • Emotional Craving (11)
  • Emotional Indolence (13)
  • Emotional Subservience (15)
  • Emotional Seduction (16)
  • Emotional Judgement (17)
  • Emotional Flood (19)
  • All Other F3 Theme Packs (20+)

F4:
  • Repressed Wrath (19)
  • Vain Pride (19)
  • Treadwheel Sloth (19)
  • A Certain World (20)
  • Addicting Lust (21)
  • Devoured Gluttony (21)
  • All Other F4 Theme Packs (23+)

F5:
  • Nocturnal Sweeping (10)*
  • LCB Regular Checkup (14)*
  • Repressed Wrath (19)
  • Vain Pride (19)
  • Treadwheel Sloth (19)
  • A Certain World (20)
  • Addicting Lust (21)
  • Devoured Gluttony (21)
  • All Other F5 Theme Packs (23+)

Hard:
F1:
  • Dregs of the Manor (9)
  • Nest, Workshop, and Technology (16)
  • Lake World (16)
  • To be Crushed / Pierced / Cleaved (20)
  • All Other F1 Theme Packs (27)

F2:
  • Emotional Repression (9)
  • Emotional Craving (10)
  • Emotional Indolence (12)
  • Emotional Subservience (14)
  • Emotional Seduction (15)
  • Emotional Judgement (16)
  • Emotional Flood (18)
  • All Other F2 Theme Packs (20+)

F3:
  • Burning Haze (7)
  • Trickled Sanguine Blood (7)
  • Dizzying Waves (8)
  • Crushing External Force (9)
  • Deep Sigh (9)
  • Sinking Pang (10)
  • Rising Power Supply (10)
  • All Other F3 Theme Packs (19+)

F4:
  • Season of the Flame (7)
  • Mountain of Corpses, Sea of Blood (7)
  • Abnormal Seismic Zone (8)
  • Unrelenting Might (9)
  • Poised Breathing (9)
  • Sinking Deluge (10)
  • Thunder and Lightning (10)
  • All Other F4 Theme Packs (19+)

F5+:
  • Season of the Flame (7)
  • Mountain of Corpses, Sea of Blood (7)
  • Abnormal Seismic Zone (8)
  • Unrelenting Might (9)
  • Poised Breathing (9)
  • Sinking Deluge (10)
  • Thunder and Lightning (10)
  • Nocturnal Sweeping (10)*
  • All Other F5 Theme Packs (14+)

Note 1: Any italicized or starred (*) Theme Pack is still not recommended despite its low event count, due to them prioritizing events from their own section. For example, Hell's Chicken prioritizing the Hell's Chicken Events.

Note 2: These theme packs are the only theme packs where Wealth can NEVER spawn.
  • Miracle in District 20 BokGak
  • Railway Line 5
  • The Noon of Violet
  • Full-Stopped by a Bullet
  • Hatred and Despair

Note 3: Floor 1 cannot spawn events that give gifts of Tier 3 or higher, and floor 2 cannot spawn events that give gifts of Tier 4 or higher. This is why, despite the event counts being higher in the game itself, they are adjusted lower here and differ between the same event on floors 1, 2, and 3.

Given all that information, Hard mode seems like the better pick for farming Wealth, since it has lower Event Counts on the important Theme Packs. We can start making a specific route by picking a Sin Affinity / Status Effect, and picking events aligned with that. Season of the Flame is Wrath / Burn aligned, while Mountain of Corpses, Sea of Blood is Lust / Bleed aligned, however, since Emotional Repression (Wrath) has a lower Event Count than Emotional Seduction (Lust), lets focus on Wrath / Burn.

We can easily make a route by just picking the lowest Event Count and Wrath Aligned (if applicable) Theme Pack from this list. Thusly, the Wrath Route is born:

Hard:
  • F1: Dregs of the Manor (9)
  • F2: Emotional Repression (9)
  • F3: Burning Haze (7)
  • F4: Season of the Flame (7)
  • F5: Mountain of Corpses, Sea of Blood (7)

I give two choices on Floor 5 since, hopefully, the Wrath Event pool has been lowered from floors 1-4, and so its much more likely to spawn.

Here is another route for Lust:
Hard:
  • F1: Dregs of the Manor (9)
  • F2: Emotional Seduction (15)
  • F3: Trickled Sanguine Blood (7)
  • F4: Mountain of Corpses, Sea of Blood (7)
  • F5: Season of the Flame (7)

You can easily swap between the two strategies in the same run, for example, if you are running the Wrath path and notice your events are mostly Bleed / Lust aligned, try swapping over to the other path sooner, and vice versa!

For those of you continuing into Parallel Superposition Mode, you can simply extend the Floor 5 choices further.

Using this strategy, the Bizarre Machine Event is MUCH more likely to spawn, and thus you can hit the 99% and get 50 Cost that much more often!

Special Credit to @NiceToYeetYou, who helped test the Wealth runs.

A Certain Philosophy

A Certain Philosophy is a lot easier than other EX Gifts due to just how often you can fuse at 99% per Mirror Dungeon. If you are actively attempting to get A Certain Philosophy, it should not take more than 10 Mirror Dungeons, unless you are excessively unlucky. You only need to hit the 1% chance once.

For this one, simply pick the Cost relevant Graces of the Immortal Star (Star of the Beginning, Cumulating Starcloud, Star-shower, and if you can afford it, Chance Comet), go into Hard Mode, and fuse 4 random E.G.O Gifts at every Super Shop (making sure that you aren't fusing into a random gift but one of any keyword). Remember to buy Tier 1 Gifts whenever possible, as they are cheap and easy fusion ingredients. If you have already fused into every E.G.O Gift of a status at a specific tier; swap to a different status!

You can get Super Shops to spawn by upgrading E.G.O Gifts for the status archetype you are running as per usual; just make sure to fuse at 99% in Super Shops!

It should not take you that long to get this one since you can trigger the conditions for it multiple times per run, meaning you can roll the 1% dice multiple times per run.

You can technically get this gift in Normal as well, however, that requires the consumption of Starlight for every fusion attempt, and thus I do not recommend it.

Alternative Strategy

If you PURELY want A Certain Philosophy for the Compendium and do not wish to farm Battle Pass EXP at the same time, then it is likely slightly faster to pick and upgrade to ++ every Cost and E.G.O Gift relevant Graces of the Immortal Star (Star of the Beginning, Cumulating Starcloud, Star-shower, and if you can afford it, Binary Star-Shop, Moon Star-shop, Chance Comet, and Perfected Possibility), prioritizing the E.G.O Gift ones.

Afterwards, you rush to the shop on the first floor and then fuse gifts in groups of 3 with Wishmaking turned on. You can then forfeit the run after leaving the shop, since whether you claim the Mirror Dungeon or not, you still will keep the Compendium record for A Certain Philosophy afterwards.

Since you do NOT claim the Mirror Dungeon for this, no Starlight is actually consumed, so you can be excessive with your consumption. This strategy is likely faster than the previous strategy, but it is time spent not farming Mirror Dungeon. Since you are using Wishmaking, it also works for both Normal and Hard mode, however, I would still pick Hard mode for the slight chance of a Super Shop saving you a little bit of work.

Special Credit to @Matek for this alternative strategy.

TLDR
Wealth:

Follow this image:

A Certain Philosophy:

Pick Cost-relevant Graces and spam fuse gifts in groups of 4 in every Super Shop.

Alternatively

Pick every Cost and E.G.O Gift Graces at ++.
Spam fuse gifts in groups of 3 in the first floor Shop with Wishmaking turned on.
Forfeit the run after leaving the shop, to avoid any starlight being consumed.

@Whiffed No. Bizarre Machine is a Tier 5 Gift Event, and only Tier 1 and Tier 2 Gift Events has spawn on Floor 1 (Floor 2 can only spawn Tier 1, 2, and 3 Gift Events). The earliest it can spawn is Floor 3.
Whiffed 10 Aug @ 12:55am
so could you get the bizarre machine event in dregs of the manor on floor 1?
Borderlined  [author] 8 Aug @ 3:05am
@ovni.demon Bizarre Machine cannot spawn multiple times per MD, nor can any event spawn multiple times per MD. Since its already debatable whether you do Floor 5 due to time, and I only recommend that to finish the MD, MDI is not useful for Wealth Farming.

I didn't put Hell's Chicken because Hell's Chicken is in the category of 'All Other F2 Theme Packs'. It was just being used an an example.

Will you update for MDI? From what I understood, the slot machine event can spawn multiple times during a run, so going through 10 floors will make you encounter it more.
Also, you forgot to put "Hell's chicken" number of events (it's even funny, since you mention it in the floors with themed event but forgot to put it in the list)

@ovni.demon fixed, and also updated to the most optimal pathway I think I can create.

Just to point out: S.E.A. doesn't have any special event. You have 3 themed gift but no event. I think you mixed up with Hell's Chicken

Thanks for the tips! - I had no idea that events could be influenced via sin affinity, that's a very clever way to force the slot machine event.
