Here it is, the long awaited cold war submachine guns. Cold War has some usual and seriously unusual submachine guns included in the game, as always. This non-DLC pack includes FIVE launch submachine guns with most of their features included and/or enhanced.


1) MP5

"Full-auto submachine gun. Fast fire rate with low recoil. Good visibility and control while firing."

Isn't it the first thing that comes to mind when you think of smg? The devs thought the same (probably) and added this as the first submachine gun. The way the model and animations look is off putting for some reason. Though a very fitting weapon for the era. 4 years after releasing on ArcCW, it finally sees the light of day with ARC9.

Very common sight in cold war. Visible on pretty much most matches you will play. It's just standard, like its codename.

The cold war MP5 is unique in a way where the devs thought of SD variants, so most barrels and both suppressor models are dynamic where they change to the SD versions when both are attached. I thought of how to implement this for about a week and somehow pulled it off with my mid programming. So you can play around with SD variants with the attachments with this gun (also changing its name accordingly).


2) Milano 821

"Full-auto submachine gun. High damage with a slower fire rate and fair recoil. Improved handling speeds with more accurate hipfire spread."

Milano is like they wanted to put a uzi really badly but also didnt want to make it a uzi and depict a clone variant instead. It is real though and a rare sight, as only an anime and 2 games featured it before. The quicker reload animations look nice. Other than that its just a slow shooting smg that I made 4 years ago like many others here.

Like the MP5, this is commonly used as well. Can barely recall using it however.

Attachments are okay, some stocks are unique I could say. The rest are of the usual.


3) AK-74u

"Full-auto submachine gun. Improved damage with reliable weapon control. Utilizes 5.45 ammo for superior bullet velocity."

Another AK variant that needs care here in the workshop (i think), included as the third smg in the game. This particular one is known for its weird VAL series of attachment combinations. That exact functionality is included in this weapon to create all sorts of stuff. The empty reload is one my top favorite animations in cold war. Drum magazine reloads are really good too. Generally fond of the sound design, especially with the bolt. This gun is actually a first time post from me so whoever really wanted to see this is probably thrilled.

This gun is the second most annoying in the game(the first you will see soon), as it is like one of the best guns to run in the game. I never used it but always came across smelly people demolishing matches with it. My appreciation for the weapon is more outside of that environment.

First paragraph mentioned the VAL family attachments, and it works the same like the MP5. If you attach a suppressor and an applicable barrel attachment, it will trigger a val mode where the suppressor and barrel models are modified automatically. A magazine well will appear with applicable barrels and gets removed automatically when a drum magazine is attached. There are complementary stock attachments that aid in the val look.


4) KSP 45

"3-round burst submachine gun. High damage with moderate range. Burst fire spread is less efficient at long range."

There we go, another fictional mixmash something. Thats what this gun is. I think the same people that designed the CARV.2 made this before it, and you can make sense of it from evident design similarities. I think I made my point clear in the CARV.2 page. Fictional weapons are not welcome to Call of Duty. I respect the efforts that went into making this model, it just doesnt fit into COD, make it for somewhere else. Anyways tangent aside this gun has an ArcCW version thats around 4 years old so its a good refresher and like in that addon the full-auto trigger group is included so you can choose that if you'd like.

UMP looking thing is only available on multiplayer for some reason, and I dont remember seeing a popular use of it. I used it in zombies as burst weapons are generally really good for the gamemode.

When it comes to customization, there are some cool magazines and a few stocks worth mentioning. I feel they made a better job with the attachments for the CARV.2 compared to this.


5) Bullfrog

"Full-auto submachine gun. Reliable damage with improved range. Large ammo pool and less accurate hipfire spread."

I called this an ugly bizon 4 years ago and still stand by it. Good example of their direction of making real guns look less accurate on purpose.

Similar to the KSP, this gun is used but not to the extent of others. I haven't used it personally.

Not using it in cold war at all made me notice some unique attachments they included with this, almost every barrel and magazine is unique and there are nice stocks. Proprietary underbarrel attachments for this gun as for its design that attach to the magazine so it funnily gets changed alongside the helical mag.

Speed multipliers from cold war are applied. Movement, shooting, sighted and sprint speeds are almost exactly identical with cold war.

i love this add-on but there this bug from both this add-on and the Submachine Guns dlc one where every time i hold the gun it slowed me down but i do love this add-on

The last COD game that incorrectly classifies the AKS-74u as an SMG and not in assault rifle section. It still accepts the 5.45x39mm rifle cartridge.

There is almost all of bo4, just not on this base
