Custom campaign - Prince of Nightmares

Description
“Prince of Nightmares” is a fanmade campaign for Barony. It’s my first ever mod for this game, but I still tried to make it as solid as possible.

This mod includes:
- A new, linear campaign, consisting of 15 levels.
- A different story intro
- A new antagonist that talks to you between levels (voice acted by me :P )
- Different endings
- 4 minibosses
- 3 secret spots that contain powerful items
- 3 hidden easter eggs
- A new readable lore book

Lore:
"When all hope seemed lost for Hamlet, a brave hero emerged and ended the evil reign of Baron Herx. He managed to find a hidden way into Hell and slew the devil Baphomet in combat, at the same time removing the corrupted baron. And after the archmagisters were exposed and disposed of, the hero was crowned the new baron of Hamlet and granted a blessing from the eternals.

The town returned to its former glory and the people loved their new ruler. One would assume that this was the beginning of a new age of peace and prosperity. And it was. For a while.

Recently, citizens have been experiencing horrible nightmares, in which they were tormented by their greatest fears and vile monsters. Each bad dream would drain a part of the mortal’s soul. Those who got drained completely would go towards an old forest known as Lightless Grove… only to never return.

The new baron decided to do something about it. He assembled a party of 4 elite mercenaries and sent them to the Grove. Their objective is to find the source of those nightmares and destroy it. Unfortunately, the 4 heroes experienced a horrible nightmare on the very first night of their quest.

In it, they met… the prince."

Some notes from the creator:
- I know that level names do not align with the level environments. The reason why is because Barony has a hard coded way of choosing music to play, which isn’t very convenient for map making. For instance, Lightless Grove is called “Underworld”, to avoid playing “Atmosphere” all the time.
- Some races are able to recruit some enemies, which may or may not include minibosses. I won’t stop you from playing them but recruiting will ruin the intended experience.
- Some messages are missing spaces, because of how the Barony editor messes up with them. I am aware of them, just so you know.
- Because this is a linear campaign, some classes will thrive while others might struggle.
- Also, levitation, opening spell and digging are disabled on every single map of the campaign. You can do waterwalking though.
- This mod replaces some sounds with the prince's voice lines. Barony has a hard coded list of sounds so I had to replace some quotes from Orpheus and Erudyce. Keep in mind that this will cause conflicts with other mods that change the “sounds.txt” file.
- IMPORTANT: I made this campaign mostly as a fun side-project and as a tribute to Barony. I highly doubt I’ll make more mods/stories, though, as I still want to be able to enjoy this game for what it is.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments! I'm legitimately shocked by how well my mod has been received. Over 100 subscriptions is like... 10 times more than I expected.

Now, answering @Godflesh, I did not expect anyone to try and kill the sage, but yeah, I suppose I should've ;P. I admit, I wasnt sure how to prevent the players from killing him, because I'm still learning the editor scripts. But don't worry. I aim to keep on updating the mod and I should be able to find a way to make the sage immortal.

your work is amazing. Thanks Turning wheel for making Barony and also thank you and your team for this beautiful little project.
Also I forgot that I had the incubus femboy skin mod enabled and it was quite a surprise to find the final boss to be a femboy lol
Also I killed sage two times, I had to let the game afk with a slingshot which I managed to level up range to max. After killing him I advanced up like 4 o 7 levels, it's a lot and a nice touch although I don't know if it's intended.

I think that almost every barony players by nature tends to explore every corner, every alternative to a path even creating new ones when none are presented. Maybe it'd be better if the automaton is either unkillable to make it futile to try to kill him or either easier to kill him so you can have more loot

10/10 Campaign , for only set maps it was quite well made, and the lore was neat. I did loved the combat encounters even though most got cheesed by Ninja's busted starting kit of beartraps

Wow! I was so captivated i ended up completing it in one sitting. I was really surprised by the fact that there was voice acting. It was sick! Really made it feel personal and unique! Will leave a more detailed review later. But for now - amazing work! Thanks for showing us linear campaigns can work great! ^^:elrath:
