Quality Workbenches & Research Benches
Craft work & research benches with real, vanilla-style quality — from Awful to Legendary — and feel the difference.



What you get
  • Auto-detects player worktables (Bills) + research benches; applies vanilla quality tiers.
  • Quality impacts: Work Speed (worktables), Research Speed (research benches), and Beauty (all).
  • Lightweight, XML-free, mid-save friendly; built to play nice with big furniture/production mods.

Default effects
Awful → x95% | Beauty -1 Poor → x98% | Beauty +0 Normal → x100% | Beauty +0 Good → x102% | Beauty +1 Excellent → x105% | Beauty +2 Masterwork → x110% | Beauty +3 Legendary → x120% | Beauty +4

How it works
  • No def replacements. Detection runs at startup.
  • Quality rolls when construction finishes (God Mode included).
  • Effects appear in Info → Stats; labels show quality in parentheses.

Settings
  • Per-tier speed multipliers (x%) and Beauty offsets — tweak to your taste.
  • Reset-to-defaults button. (Optional whitelist for mod benches planned.)

Compatibility & load order
  • Safe to add mid-save; compatible with Vanilla Expanded and similar overhauls.
  • Place after large furniture/production mods so their benches are detected.

FAQ
  • God Mode builds? Yes — quality is assigned on completion.
  • No quality in the label? Some UI mods change labels; check Info → Stats to confirm effects.

probably, i remember using a mod that just lowered to almost 0 the cooldown of turret fires and it affected those of SoS2, i think they are essentialy turrets like vanilla and other modded

It depends, first I have to check to "what" I have to hook in order to detect turrets, If the same "hook" is the same that SoS turrets use, then should work with that. :pigeonface:

yup, after I'm finally free from translation keys I'll start to work on that! I have nothing planned yet, but the objective is autodetec modded security buildings as well :veryafraid:

Oooooh, so THIS is why the higher the quality of an item my guys craft, the more damaged it comes out. Luckily, I have Mend and Recycle in my mod list, so while the main crafters craft, the back-up crafters mend it before the rest of the guys can equip themselves with the new stuff.

This mod has an interesting interaction with "Quaility Affects HP" in that it causes structure to be built at fractions of the max HP set by the other mod.
