Description
🌀 Archotech Cargo Hold

When "a couple of shelves" just won’t cut it anymore. Especially if you don't want your ship looking like a demented boomrat nest. That wondrously spacious flying throne room won't build itself out of stockpiles...

Tired of watching your colonists trip over mountains of potatoes, piles of plasteel, and that one random human leather hat you swear you’ll use someday, eventually?
Behold: The Archotech Cargo Hold: an enticing nest for self-organizing storage nanites that literally pop into existence when they see your fine architecture. Yup, an archotech did it, once again...

Powered by quantum compression and a sprinkling of "don’t ask too many questions" archoparticles and "Balancing ? What balancing ?" advanced technology, this miracle of "science" crams up to 1000 stacks into a single, elegant 1×1 space. An archotech did it, did I tell you ?

⚠️ Disclaimer: Perfectly safe for long-term storage. Probably don’t eat food stored inside for too long… unless you’re into that sort of thing.

📦 Features

Absurd capacity: 1000 stacks per cell - stop playing inventory Tetris.

Ultra-durable: 80,000 HP and fully fireproof - because of course it is.

Deterioration-proof: Keep your goods pristine forever.

Built-in cooling: Stores goods at a chilly -10°C to prevent rot.

"Archotech" aesthetics: Impress guests and terrify tribals.

🔧 Requirements

Construction skill 15 (this is not your average Ikea job).

500W continuous power (quantum compression isn’t free and those nanites have some standards).

Your colony’s hoarding problem has met its match.
Now go forth, and store irresponsibly.

Check my other mods for extremely balanced🤡 content !

forsome reason i get the ding for "No storage space" when using the Haul Urgently button. the Pawns still use the storage though in most cases

hi, love your mod but cost of 100 steel is a bit low ( its not a bit low, its hella low ). It should be at least few high (or how the heck it called in eng) components. keep in mind that it is archotech thing and it is more complecated that bunch of scrap metal. Btw u can just make a toggle in a mod settings to have some sort of balance

If this was 3x3 it would be amazing. Would prevent needing a buffer zone.

@g_BonE thanks ! I have a lot of fun writing them :)

@FlareFluffsune, yes vanilla behavior, you can speed up loading by having a buffer stockpile near the cargo hold(s), pawns will haul to those cells and turbo load them into the hold next :)

love your mods and sense of humor. keep it up yo! got all of them in my current playthrough.

@Flare
it's vanilla. What i do is make a zone for storage in the room set it to low and as one is hauling to it everyone else is dumping the items on the floor of the room for storing.

It seems like only one pawn at a time can haul to the cargo hold which kinda slows down mass movements of resources. Do you know if this is a bug or an annoyance of vanilla mechanics?

That's great. I agree far too many mods lock actual helpful items behind quests and the item is never worth it to go out and find.

As for penalties I would only do that if you also intagrate them with a temp control. Like I want theroom to stay at 70 they will heat and or cool the room automatically. the catch is no power and the room starts going down into the -100+ levels to show you need this powered or the nanites are unhappy. having them able to stablize the temp would even clean up rooms more because no heaters or AC
RPGWanderer  [author] 16 Aug @ 3:49pm
@Sera, Aquifel: It's currently only locked behind a 15 skill check, you will find it in the "storage" section of the architech menu like other stuff made with Adaptative Storage. I didn't want to lock it behind a quest because the more mods you have, the less likely you get what you're looking for and since I'm a neat freak, I couldn't wait to be able to build multiple cargo holds to sort my stuff :p I will probably add some penalties when there is no power after I'm done with the other mod I still have to publish (OP paintable cooler, heater and vent), I think I will be done with that by the end of sunday and will have a look at the items spitting next week :)
