Even More Trees

Description
Adds four new tree types — cherry blossom, cypress, bamboo, and dead tree — for greater variety in landscaping and map decoration.

Placement option: under the "tree" category in the Assets menu, compatible with native brushes and "mixed trees" options.

Patch note (08/16/2025): Simple lod of cherry blossom and cypress trees now supported.

*Still not recommended to include this mod when creating a new map because bamboo and dread trees are not optimized.

[711E404] Modify the 'res/models/model/tree/*.mdl' files. You can remove the low-res version (if there's any) from lods and make the detailed version (the first node in lods) visible at greater distance (i.e. visibleTo = 1000).

I do not want simple lod of these trees.
How could I delete the simple lod?

I'm not sure if I was able to explain it well, but it's difficult to judge whether something is advice or not when it's said to you. Writing itself is not bad, and of course it can also be used as advice. It reminded me of a comment I saw in the past from someone who wrote, "I'm not forcing people to use mods."

Just chatting.
Express things simply to avoid language problems. You need to be sensitive enough to accept advice, but it can also be mentally painful.I don't have that confidence, so I generally don't reread the responses to the comments I make.A simple comment from a well-known mod author can be taken as advice, while a comment from someone less well-known will give you something to think about. There are language issues, and comments that are purely opinionated. I think it must be tough being a mod creator. It probably doesn't matter if you have a strong heart like Jack_P.
I'm just kidding.

have you optimized the models for the game? They look like they are not

When I first loaded the mod to try and new game it was then I noted the performance issues. I saved that game. Then I returned to the menu and removed this mod only and reloaded that save.
It was then it showed that warning of missing trees, showing that the game will indeed include them at the start of a map creation.
Their impact is quite meaningful, in the above example of using the mod.

Just something to be aware of :)

If the game is complaining about missing mdl files there must be some trees spawned on the map, and I'm guessing there are too many. I would: 1. check if and how to remove them from startgame spawn, 2. provide a low-poly low-texture version for longer distance display

In the meantime if you still want to use these, I'd start a new map and only add the mod after the startup map assets (trees/rocks) are generated.

So, it does seem that the game will use those trees on a fresh map.

With the mod then disabled the game throws this up...

I assume that it means those trees are supplied by the mod and causing the bad performance .
