Description
Angled Hull Expansion

Angled Hull Expansion provides the ability for any ThingDef (walls, hulls, etc.) to use the vanilla Odyssey angled hull behavior. This allows mod authors to enable the feature on their own modded walls via a simple extension.




What It Does

This mod provides the foundational code to allow any ThingDef to become a valid angled hull. The feature is normally exclusive to the vanilla Odyssey hull, but this mod allows it to be applied to any building you choose.




New Content

This mod also includes a floor-grade version of the structural substructure. It is a cheaper and faster option that provides the same rugged, industrial aesthetic for your constructions, without the specialized support of the original substructure.




Important Note

Please be aware that all angled hulls will use the vanilla Odyssey texture, regardless of the original wall's appearance. The mod's focus is on expanding structural shape options, not visual variety for the angled hull itself. (This could change later)

To make your modded wall compatible, simply patch the following ModExtension:

Take your time, maybe someone on the rimworld mod market discord with artist skill will make it for free for you and you can focus on code

@Geojak, I have that already, it's just been a pain in the a$$ making the textures, and I'm a little busy with work :(

ah dang, i was hoping this mod would make standard vanilla walls able to be diagonal.

Man, I'm still hoping for someone to expand the diagonal hull feature to all walls on standard terrain. To be frank, this should've been a part of the 1.6 update to begin with. Thanks for getting us halfway there at least :-).

I will check it this weekend, since that mod adds its own way to draw angled walls, I'm not so sure of how well they would work together

I haven't implemented the draw angled walls on normal terrain here, since it has been a pain in the a$$ making the textures for the normal walls

FYI, In simple terms, vanilla decides to draw angled walls when 2 blocks are touching corner to corner, the substructure is used to not draw angled walls where it is placed
