Kynixes

Description
This mod adds a new race of small gemstone fox creatures called kynix. They are a playable race with small equivalents of the pick, battleaxe, and sword, since all vanilla weapons are too large for them to use. There's a few surprises I've given them, as well. I hope you enjoy them!

Here's a more proper description of all this mod has to offer if you don't want to be surprised
The kynix are very small, leaving all vanilla weapons too big for them to use. They have a small weapon pool of their own, but their size hampers their combat abilities regardless of what weapons they have. They are also strictly carnivorous, the combination of these traits making them something of an unintentional challenge race.
To their benefit, their deceased do not leave behind typical corpses, instead leaving rough kynix rubies, so miasma is not so much an issue with them. More helpful is their speed. Though their low strength should leave hauling heavier objects slower, they can rush the lightweight hauling, and of course escape enemies with a bit more reliability.

The kynix start in the mountains, like the dwarves. Their civilization also inherits most of its traits from the dwarves, so steel is currently available to them, though I am considering making a unique alternative. Being made of gemstones, I thought it fitting to give the kynix a pair of unique gem cuts: Heart and fox-shaped. This has absolutely no impact on gameplay, but I thought it was cute so I added it anyway.

Kynix come in 5 castes:

Females: The most common form of kynix.

Males:1 in 10. Similar to the females, just smaller. All other castes are female.

Kynim: A rare(7 in 100) winged form. Are they actually better? I'm not sure, but I think they're cool.

Kyao: Another rare variant(again, 7 in 100), the kyao are amphibious and have a natural fishing skill. Given that the kynix cannot eat plants, this can be an important food source.

Kymfee: 1 in 500. Unlike the other forms, these are giants. All queens of the kynix are kymfee, which may lead to the kynix being rare in most worlds as the kymfee are aggressive and prone to start wars that their small and weak citizens can't withstand.

The kynix have exclusive access to 5 unique animals.
Glitterbug: The beasts of labor. These are giant beetles. They can occasionally leave mid-value rough gemstones in nestboxes, but probably serve better in the meat industry due to their massive size.

Honigkopf: Strange creatures that can be milked for honey. An alternative to bees, though you wont get any other hive products from them.

Lagusk: Larger rabbits with crystal antlers. They don't do much, serving more as pets.

Witch's Mipling: Small fungal creatures, very similar to plump helmet men. Like the lagusk, they mostly serve as pets. However, they are able to inflict a few ailments when threatened, and will occasionally try to soothe friendly creatures with a misting of gleba. Still not all that useful, though.

Sylvian Nimcran: Birds that,Instead of typical eggs, lay nimpalm bulbs, which can be grown and the fruit from these plants can be brewed for a more valuable drink.

These animals are the only ones that the kynix have access to, the intent being that a fortress of kynix must gain other animals through other civilizations. For those other civilizations, the kynix will often have these animals for trade, so having them in the world may still be useful, if any of these animals catch your eye.

A hostile variant of kynix now also exist, their civilizations initially appearing in colder regions, though they can spread out to deserts and wetlands. Like base-game kobolds, they cannot be seen on embark.
They have access to one animal, the kyx, which is entirely crystaline, and able to splinter shards off as projectiles making them fairly deadly. They can be made hunting/war animals if you can get your hands on one

Two new fanciful creatures. Nix and Kyskalta. Kynix can become a nix through temple dice in adventure mode. Creatures seeking immortality can become a kyskalta instead of a necromancer sometimes in world creation. Both should be quite rare though
