Mario Party 5 Animatable Ragdoll (Koopa Kid update!)

LET'S-A PARTY!!!



These are a couple ragdolls from Mario Party 5, that includes at least 200 animations. Yes, 200 animations. I've extracted the models and animations myself from the game and converted it all to a useable format in Garry's Mod! I hope you enjoy the ragdoll and I hope you find it useful for making screenshots and scenebuilding.

The addon contains two ragdolls

*Mario (fingerposing, faceposing, eyebrow bodygroups, all 220 animations)
*Koopa Kid (fingerposing, faceposing red/blue/green colors, 209 animations)

Even if you don't take full advantage of the animations (even though I really recommend you do, since there are certainly plenty of ragdolls that have more features such as more faceposing sliders and higher poly models and higher resolution textures), you can still use this as a traditional ragdoll. It has some limited fingerposing and faceposing. This ragdoll is scaled accordingly to work with the big Mario variant from the popular Mario pack that hopefully needs no introduction. Due to animation dependencies, however, I can't really curl the fingers or edit the bone pivots to an ideal spot so you'll have to deal with flat fingers. Additionally, there isn't eyeposing, and I do think eyeposing doesn't work very consistently in tandem of animations, but I hope there is a way to make sure the irises are locked to the head while the model is in motion. I might need to study existing models with animations and eyeposing to see how they manage this.

Note that Koopa Kid (and the other two newcomers Boo and Toad if they are ever ported) does not have animations from Beach Volleyball due to how the game was set up. While the veteran cast does have their animations within the same .bin file as the rest of the animations, the newcomers instead have the animations in m433.bin (the file archive for Beach Volleyball). Unfortunately, the boneset for these special animations are not only different, but have different bone names, so I found out I can't even rename the bones to work with the existing boneset. My only possible solution is to look into retargeting but that's not something I'm going to expend too much resources on.

There are no immediate plans in the future for more ragdolls, as 200+ animations is a hefty amount to work on, but once, if, the next ragdoll comes, I will update the addon accordingly. If you are nice enough, I can make more!

Please do not ask me to make it a pIayermodel, as it's outside my skillset, and while it's not an impossible task, I rather focus on ragdoll and prop work. Anyone is free to convert it into one! Please give credit, it will be nice.
