Description
de_furo (WIP 5v5 Defusal Map)
Japanese-inspired hot-spring village nestled among rocky cliffs and wooden walkways

About This Map
This is my first map ever, built from scratch with competitiveness and fluidity in mind. It’s a serious work in progress, so layouts, lighting, props, and gameplay will evolve as I learn and iterate. (I have no idea what I’m doing, but I know what a good map should feel like!)

Credentials
  • Faceit Level 10 since 2018
  • CS:GO/CS2 veteran since 2014, 6,500+ hours played
  • Highly ranked across multiple competitive shooters

Overview
Experience de_furo, a CS2 defusal map set in a tranquil furo resort.

Navigate:
  • Walkways: tight angles and long sightlines
  • Courtyard/Mid: central hub for rotations
  • Underground: surprise flanks and strategic depth

This map is optimized for 5v5 play with fast rotations, balanced choke points, and rewarding control mechanics.

Current WIP & To-Do
  • Optimization: just overall improving performance on all machines
  • Collision: no collision meshes (you can clip outside the map or climb anywhere)
  • Assets: placeholder textures and props (final polish pending)
  • Detailing: adding more small details to the map to make it more alive and real
  • Audio: uniform soundscape (indoor, outdoor, and underground areas sound the same)

How to Help
Playtest & Feedback
  • Identify chokepoints, balance issues, or confusing sightlines
  • Report crashes, missing VMTs, or nav-mesh errors
Bug Reports
  • Share console logs, screenshots, or demo clips of visual glitches
  • Include steps to reproduce issues (e.g., "Molotov fire never appears on wooden floor")
Ideas & Contributions
  • Suggest authentic Japanese props, textures, or ambient sounds
  • Assist with lighting setups, entity optimization, or final polish

Yeah, I know bigspliffjoe, I'm leaving the clip brushes for later once everything's exactly where it needs to be so that I don't also have to move around the clip brushes every time I make a change.

maps quite fun, try putting clipping brushes on all the stairs to make them into ramps it what they do on official maps makes them alot smoother also can boost out the map in a good few spots

Thank you tofu and KEBE, yeah it's my first ever so I'll just keep trying to improve it until it's in a state that it can be properly played and stuff. :BR_Heart:

It's clear you put a lot of effort into the map, it was fun 1v1ing a friend rushing and holding bombsites and mid, don't have much of feedback... the cat outside the map is really cute.

Keep going. This is a map with great potential, and there will be more subscribers in the future!:steamhappy:

Will keep optimising further, there are still a lot of things I can do to improve performance.

And yes, I will add outlines to bomb sites!

Nice improvements on the FPS and lighting, is definitely much better then when i first ran around it but i do still have some 200+fps drops in some areas when running around. Also would be nice if u could add an outline to the bombsites (B site specifically). Keep up the good work man:steamthumbsup:
