VRE Android: Digital Conversion

Description
This mod adds a new serum that can be used to convert pawns from biological beings to androids from Vanilla Races Expanded.

1. How does it work?
  • The new item, the "Mechanical Ascension Serum", changes a pawn's xenotype to that of an Awakened Android. They will now have the same needs as that of an android and no more biological needs, such as food or sleep.
  • Pawns should keep their cosmetic genes. So a Yttakin that gets converted will still look like a Yttakin. (You can change their genes at the android behaviorist station)
  • Pawns will enter a short, temporary 1 day coma as they transform.
  • If you want pawns to keep more genes when they transform checkout my other mod, VRE Android: Unrestricted Patch (Genes, Reproduction, Psycasts)

2. Requirements
The serum is made at the Android Part Bench added by Vanilla Expanded. It is in the Biotech category.
To craft the serum you will need:
  • AndroidTech researched
  • A pawn with 8 intellectual skill
  • 100 Plasteel
  • 30 Uranium
  • 3 Advanced Components
  • 3 Glitterworld Medicine

Important Tip for Behaviorist Station
To use the station on an awakened android, you first have to make them a prisoner. Do the change, then release them so they rejoin your colony. I can't change how this works, unfortunately.

Huh weird, I might need to look into that. Do they have all the genes/protocols an android normally would have?

it's odd, because the first one i used it on, my mechanitor, was also a starjack, altho their jump ability was disabled because they had the furry tail cosmetic?

so, not sure why, but i had a pair of starjacks(upgraded through vre starjacks) change their race to awakened android...but that's it, they are still flesh and blood, still need food, all that jazz...

Well this isn't the Terminator version of Androids, with the SKY NET but it words and is kinda close. I enjoy this mod

Is there a way for the opposite to happen? Like Penny from RWBY, who is inspired by pinnochio, they start out as puppets with strings (metal vs wooden), and eventually become human!

@ADragonNamedFox just tested only for 1.6, I think the mod would probably work for 1.5 if you want to give it a shot.

Unfortunate that this doesn't work for 1.5! Not that I've actually tried to see. I'm a SOS2 player and find the vanilla gravships a bit restrictive and not super complex so still on 1.5 for now.

Does this use 1.6 exclusive methods though or was it just developed/tested for 1.6?
