Description
This mod provides fixes and improvements for about 300 various spells, bard songs, and invocations.

It is based on "Spell Fixes & Improvements" mod by Reeron and Trekari who did really a great job:

This mod is an attempt to make Spell Fixes & Improvements work with EE and to make it even a bit better.


MAIN CHANGES

3.5 Classes improvements, MotB blessings and item recipes were removed for compatibility reasons and now this edition is almost exactly matches its name: SPELL fixes and improvements :-)

I've also reverted to original state some imbalanced spells like Greater Invisibility which keeps you invisible even after hostile actions which completely breaks single player campaigns as almost all enemies are unable to see through invisibility and are just beaten to death by permanently invisible player party :-)

IMPORTANT!

UPDATED IN-GAME ENGLISH DESCRIPTIONS FOR UPDATED SPELLS, FEATS AND OTHER THINGS


To get updated English descriptions you need to install additional mod with custom English dialog.tlk file, here is the link to it:

PLEASE NOTE:

If you have non-English language in-game it will be replaced with English from this new English dialog.tlk. So, you may choose not to install updated English descriptions if you don't want this change.

If you have custom dialog.tlk installed by any other mod there will be file conflict between your already installed dialog.tlk file and this one - only one will actually work while another will be just ignored by the game. So, you need to choose one you want more and uninstall another.


Mod is conceptually divided into 5 parts (folders):

Spells fixed

Contains spells that were just fixed. No balancing done to the scripts or not brought into line with PnP.

Spells fixed (already PnP)

Contains spells that were just fixed. No balancing done to the scripts but are already in-line with PnP).

Spells improved

Contains spells that are tweaked and balanced a little, such as the summon spells having longer durations.

Spells fixed and improved towards PnP

Contains spells that were either improved and balanced towards PnP or were fixed because they were broken, and in the process, they were fixed to use their PnP stats.

Shared 2da files

Includes shared 2da files required for correct work of other mod parts:

spells.2da - required for most spell fixes and improvements,

feat.2da - required for feats and spells depending on feats like melee and ranged touch specializations,

range.2da - required for spell range fixes and improvements

and so on.

Includes txt file for each 2da file so you can see exactly what was changed.

This folder contains important info for some of the scripts (such as the spell "Poison") and the targeting info for the spells so that the targeting marker is the correct size/shape for the fixed spell scripts. Without it some of the functionality of the spells will be incorrect. They will still work, but they won't work correctly.

Also, this folder is required for Persistent Displacement, Hideous Blow, Cone of Cold, Battletide, Prismatic Spray, Weird, Cloudkill, Cloud of Bewilderment, Creeping Doom, and Grease to work correctly.

IMPORTANT

Do not remove 2da files folder unless you want to break any or most of the fixes and improvements.

PLEASE NOTE:

This division into 5 parts is generally just conceptual and made for clarity purposes. All mod parts are interconnected and interdependent. It's not recommended to partially or fully delete any of the mod folders: do it on your risk and if you exactly know what you are doing.

How do I download this to add into my PW? I checked the NWVault and many spells when you try to compile need a Reeronspellinclude, which is missing. Would love to implement this but the Vault version has that issue and here I simply cannot find the right link/button to download rofl

It is intended behavior for Eldritch Doom as stated in the mod Steam guide I mentioned in the mod description:

-Eldritch Doom- Now heals friendly undead when used with Utterdark Essence. Now only affects enemies, and always originates centered on-caster. Fixed targetting UI to show correct size radius (was too small). Changed range from Medium to Personal, as it's centered on-caster.

So, it's still ranged area attack originating from the caster and now correct radius is shown by targeting UI.

ELDRITCH DOOM, warlock blast shape is bugged, don't know yet if it's this mod, or the base game itself :(
instead of being a RANGED area attack, it makes Eldritch blast CENTRED ON THE CASTER!!

Agree, I love playing casters too and Spell Fixes do a great job on this ground :steamthumbsup:

Kaedrin told he's currently working on the new merge so I hope it will be ready soon.

There is a Kaedrin's Pack + Spell fixes merge at the Vault that I used for years. I hope this new version meet that same merge soon, I love playing casters and Spell Fixes was a godsend.

You need to manually merge all duplicate files among two mods. This means to check all duplicate files and their contents and try to merge the code from both if possible.

Some files can't be merged like when you have two different spell icons for the same spell - in this case you need to choose one of the files and delete another one.
