Seems to be an issue of both mods editing the same creatures. I fixed it by taking all the contents, after [OBJECT:CREATURE], of creature_silkegg.txt from the other mod and putting it into creature_betterspiders.txt, leaving creature_silkegg.txt empty after [OBJECT:CREATURE].

I'll look into this and try to find a solution.

Looks like that mod conflicting with [silk eggs] (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2914218762) - if I include both that mods, then, looks like, world doesn't have any giant cave spiders. There are no giant cave spider cloth at embark, not with traders and I never saw any giant cave spiders nor their webs in caves

Now we need an australian themed dwarf fortress mod. Death spiders, Drop Bears, snakes for miles, fly swarms, etc

Great, a buff to spiders to make them even more dangerous...

@Drakli Should be easy enough, although the creature variations assume the vanilla body plan, so you might have to tweak a few things.

Spiders can "kick", look up tarantula threat displays. They slam things down with their legs
