Fr_encrust 2.0

Since there’s now a way to create custom graphics thanks to Topples, I’ve updated the mod to improve compatibility and made minor tweaks to graphics and hammer stats.

So… now you have no excuses left to keep making Armok miserable!
Stop wasting all your shiny gems on a single XXchert doorXX!

Make beautiful doors, beautiful tables! Craft stunning breastplates and slaughter your enemies like it’s carnival - as our good Lord intended.

A drunken dwarf surrounded by gem-encrusted furniture is a happy dwarf!
A drunken dwarf wielding a shiny, colorful war hammer is a very, very happy dwarf!
Your enemies will praise your craftsmanship before they die!
Your guests will praise your tavern before robbing it!
Even the damned elves will admire your shiny axe before declaring war over a chopped branch!

This mod should add just:

- Reactions for craftdwarves (with gem setter skill) to encrust doors, cabinets, tables, chairs, coffers, bookcases, armor stands, and weapon racks (one gem per item; ignores pre-encrusted furniture).

- Reactions for metalsmiths (with metalcrafting skill) to encrust metal weapons, armor, and shields (one gem per item).

…but I got a little bit carried away, so it also adds:

- A reaction to forge the "Armok Hammer": a silver war hammer encrusted with 10 cut gems, gold, and steel—featuring custom graphics and enhanced stats.

- BEAUTIFUL graphics for encrusted doors (all doors, really) - since modifying only encrusted doors isn’t possible yet.

If you’re insane enough to not want these glorious doors:

Go to Dwarf Fortress/data/installed_mods/Fr_encrust/graphics

Delete "graphics_doors_Fr_encrust.txt" and the first segment in "tile_page_encrust.txt";

Then navigate to /images and delete "ITEM_DOOR_GEM.png".
…do it knowing that you are a VERY annoying person.


Anyway...

The original Fr_encrust is not compatible with this and wont be upgraded because it has a very limited compatibility, but i'll keep it as it is to not break anyone's game.

As far as i know, given the new reactions, it is necessary to CREATE A NEW WORLD to use this mod.

Topples layers merge should be loaded before this mod ( i guess it doesn't matter, but I made it so because trying to create a world without his mod will crash the game).

If you get a problem with this mod, PLEASE solve it yourself, i'm very tired;
If you can't solve, please ask someone else;
If nobody can solve it, try AI;
If AI couldn't do it, just give up;
If you can't give up, try me, but i don't really know what i'm doing.

Future plans - but i don't promise anything: Once it's possible, to make custom graphics for decorated furniture and maybe more encrusted weapons.

Yeah its no stress, linux is usually not worth the time testing unless you run on one, to be fair! Yeah it was that, just renaming it to lowercase solves the hang instantly, and specifically only the item door gem mattered, I did not rename the FR file.

Sorry about that, man, I didn't tested it on Linux.

You mean FR_WIELD and ITEM_DOOR_GEM, right? Did you tried renaming the files and their references in tile_page_encrust? I'll try that tomorrow.

Also, wielding graphics may not work right now, I think it's something with Topples mod, he's looking at it.

This mod has some issues with running native DF with at least some linux distros that are !FUN! when it comes to upper and lowercase sensitivity (most of them lol), one of the files in graphics is all caps and DF expects all lower case and it will hang on loading.
