Description
For folks interested in making mods for Skin Deep, this Map Kit is a series of sample maps that demonstrate how to implement some features:

  1. Sample ship: a very basic spaceship level. Has all the required things to make a level playable and completeable.
  2. Prop Zoo: a display of all the models in Skin Deep.
  3. Particle Zoo: a display of all the particle effects in Skin Deep.
  4. Door: a standard door setup.
  5. Door (barricaded): how to make a locked door.
  6. Cryo Spawn: how to make the player starting point.
  7. Window: how to make a breakable window. Can be sealed up during a vacuum breach.
  8. Airlock: how to make an airlock.
  9. Peek: how to allow the player to peek through a wall.
  10. Security Camera: how to make a security camera and a camera hack point.
  11. Camera feed: how to display an arbitrary video feed.
  12. Fuseboxes: how to make fuseboxes for each ship subsystem.
  13. AI patrol: how to make the AI do a patrol route.
  14. Zipcord: how to make the interior vertical zipcord cables.
  15. Zipcord (exterior): how to make the exterior zipcord cables.
  16. Reinforcements: how to make the pirate reinforcement ship logic.
  17. Asteroids: how to make space rocks continually spawn in the level.
  18. Spline: how to make objects move on a spline.
  19. Skybox: how to make a 3D skybox.
  20. Scripting: how to hook up buttons and triggers to scripting.
  21. Sample vignette: a basic vignette story level.

How to run the mod
  1. Click the green +Subscribe button on this workshop page.
  2. Run Skin Deep
  3. In the main menu, select Mods > Map Kit > Activate Mod
  4. Done!

How to explore the files
You can jump in and play the maps, but the larger value is in being able to open them up in the map editor, so you can see and learn how they are set up.
  1. on your windows desktop, open folder:
    [steam installation folder]\steamapps\workshop\content\301280\3505261241
  2. done! Explore the files, and see how things work.

Here's a tip for mod authors: create a shortcut to Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/ in Steam/steamapps/common/Skin Deep/ so that you can easily find workshop mods while you're working on your own local ones
