Click the green +Subscribe button on this workshop page.
Run Skin Deep
In the main menu, select Mods > Mod Museum > Activate Mod
Done!

Also experienced the weird color/view direction issue, seems to consistently happen when loading a mod after the game has already loaded a level.

Starting a mod fresh from the very first menu is fine but if you try to load a different mod (including the main game) it triggers the bug.
