Chips Mod

Huge Tech Group Rework.

Large Army Professionalism Rework.

Unit pips for Western, Eastern, Nomad, Anatolian, Aboriginal, Chinese, Muslim, and Indian Tech Groups modified.

Regiment Sizes for Cavalry and Artillery Lowered. Cavalry Regiments have 800 units, Artillery Regiments have 600.

Siege and Battle Phase Time Reduced.

Siege Attrition raised.

Combat Dice lowered from 10 to 6.

Maximum General Pips raised.

Breakthrough Mechanic implemented, % chance to force Back Row Artillery to the Front by defeating the unit in front.

Cavalry Speed and Rebel Suppression Raised.

General Cavalry Usefulness Raised. Pips raised and/or edited.

Castile and Portugal discouraged from taking Exploration Ideas until the 1480s.

Tech Group technology penalties restored (and tweaked)

Tech group bonuses and/or drawbacks added (for example, Native American armies are able to ignore fort zone of control).

Number of Crown Colonies increased.


Update: Version 1.1: High American unit pips upgraded to be relatively on-par with Europe. Regular American unit pips left unchanged.

I did not realize that people had actually found and subscribed to my mod!

To answer The Man's question: I am not sure which mods Chips is compatible with. It is likely not to work with any mods that edit units, combat, the tech groups, etc. I need to update the description because Chips modifies more than what I originally listed.

To address 602's question: I am still finding out how the AI adapts to these new changes to the combat. My hope is that ever since the A.I.'s coding was changed to the "AI will do" system, the AI will see the changes in pips and other modifiers and adjust its army comp accordingly.
