Welcome to "Choose Your Leader - Never Truly Gone", the looooooong awaited update for Choose Your Leader!

There are a lot of portraits in Hearts of Iron 4 but to get one of them to be your leader, you have to play for a long time and choose the right way accurately. Of course it is often fun to play but sometimes it can be too long and even exhausting. Not to mention all the portraits of the generals who can be leaders but there is no way to do that.

Well now there is! Have you ever thought what would happen if MacArthur was the Communist leader of America? Or any other American general? Or perhaps if Trotsky took power in Russia as a democrat?
If you have ever asked yourself these questions (although probably not...), this is the mod for you!

With a little click of a button, you can replace the leader of each country in Hearts of Iron 4 in every portrait that this country has and in any ideology you want!

Download the mod now and you will be able to replace any leader from any country with any other leader or general! You might even see some portraits you didn't know existed in the game or find even some funny Easter Eggs that the developers of the game put in.

And now, Choose Your Leader is back and finally up to date with the current version of the game - 1.16. After being stuck for so long on the By Blood Alone DLC, this update covers EVERYTHING that was added after, and even some missing stuff before, the last update. That includes:
1. All portraits of Arms against Tyranny for Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Jan Mayen, Sapmi and Karelia.
2. All portraits of Trial of Allegiance for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and all the indigenous pan-American states.
3. All portrait of Götterdämmerung for Germany, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Luxembourg, Belgian Congo, all the Reichskommissariats, Czechoslovakia, Albania, Croatia, Catalonia, Spain, Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Mexico, various Italian states, various German states, Don, Kalmykia, Kashubia, Kuban, Silesia, United Baltic Duchy, Rwanda, Burundi, Barotseland, Biafra, Sokoto, Ghana and Katanga.
4. All portrait of Graveyard of Empires for the British Raj, Pakistan, Bangladesh, various Indian states, Burma, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Germany, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Bukhara, Kurdistan and Kuwait.
5. All of the missing operatives from La Résistance to Graveyard of Empires and all of the misssing scientists from Götterdämmerung to Graveyard of Empires.
6. All of the old portraits that have since been recreated by Paradox are still possible as country leaders in the decision list, alongside their modern counterparts.
7. Any additional unique portraits that are not used in the game but are still in the game files have been included as well.
8. Just like before, Generic portraits are not included. This time, PLACEHOLDER portraits are not included as well (except for the one in Norway, *wink*)
9. All randomization decisions have been added or updated for the appropriate countries as well.

Incase the mod doesn't work for you, do the following steps:
1. Unsubscribe and resubscribe to the mod. Perhaps the mod just failed to get uploaded properly to your device.
2. If that doesn't work, you have to go to "File Explorer" on your device and delete the paradox interactive folder in documents. Go to This PC > Documents > Paradox Interactive > Hearts of Iron IV and save your save games and presets in a backup location on your device. then, either delete the Paradox Interactive file (or just the Hearts of Iron IV file) or move it away to another backup location. then, launch the game with the mod on. After that, the mod should work for you. Stop the game, and go back to where you moved away the file from. You will see a new file that was created when you launched the game. Move your previous file back from your backup location in here (if you deleted the file, go to your Trash Bin)
