And because of that, I will be including a Staric Backgrounds mod in my new collection from day one. And probably be recommending installing it under every mod's description, just to be safe
The "bad reference count" still persists, had it happen multiple times, even yesterday. And it's always related to what background map gets loaded. And It will persist, unless Valve makes it so that the enabled mods get loaded with the game, and not only when you load a new game.
The one caveat is that this seems to only affect one single location instead of multiple, oh and maybe I was just lucky when this happened but I didn't get that issue with pre-placed corpses that was common from Winter Citizens, granted Valve DID do a patch not that long ago so maybe, just maybe whatever happened that was causing that issue might have been fixed by them.
I can't with these background maps, man. The workshop update seems to be poorly implemented, so many issues stemming from them.
The only proper solution/fix is to locally install a mod that disables background maps, like my PRL Backgrounds one.
