didn't originally intend to make this public but here it is, cheers to my friends who gave feedback
this addon is dogsh*t, don't use it if you value yourself

cvars;
fishspawner_maxspawnedfish X - number of the maximum amount of fish entities that can exist at once, setting this to a high value will cause lag, set this to 0 to effectively disable the addon (default 75)
fishspawner_minfishdepth X - how close to the surface the fish can spawn, 0 is bottom of water brush, 1 is surface (default 0.7)
fishspawner_spawnlargefish 1/0 - toggle if you want sharks/ecosystems to spawn, 1 is on, 0 is off (default 0)
fishspawner_largefishchance X - how often sharks/ecosystems can spawn, 1 in X chance (default 100)

the only issues are that;
- the fish do not care about the laws of physics and will phase through things around them
- sometimes sharks/ecosystems might spawn too close to the bottom of the water and clip through it
- if the water is too shallow, the fish might spawn above it, the sweet spot is anything deeper than the water on gm_ construct (or just tweak the minfishdepth cvar)
- in very specific mapping scenarios, the fish might swim through the air if a water brush is too close to a regular non-water space
- fish despawn if the only player around them dies. sorry pal, you can't be sleeping with the fishes
these won't be fixed as i don't really care to be honest
