Tower of MADNESS [MADNESS day release]

Description
ATTENTION!!! PLEASE READ THE PINNED DISCUSSION IN THE DISCUSSIONS TAB BEFORE PLAYING!!!

"Do you have what it takes to reach the top? Many have tried, none have succeeded. You can't be some wimp on the streets who think they can beat anyone in a fight. No, you have to be strong, fast, quick-witted, and have the determination needed to come out on top. Very few can go through the blood, sweat, and tears that need to be shed to achieve these traits, but you happen to fall into those very few, don't you? Come find us and show us what you got!"

Hello there! What you see here is my first ever attempt to use the scene tools in MADNESS PROJECT NEXUS, and what better way to make a custom level for MADNESS PROJECT NEXUS than to push the scene tools to its absolute limit. Although this is only a DEMO, I figured I'd show y'all a small portion of what I have in store for this custom level.

One of my favorite things to do in MADNESS PROJECT NEXUS is to see how many rounds I can survive in arena mode before dying, but every now and then I can't help but get a bit burnt out fighting the same enemies over and over again with slightly more health every 3 rounds. If you feel the same way, then this custom level might be just for you! This MADNESS day release contains 30 rooms, each one escalating in difficulty by introducing a new and tougher roster of enemies.

You can also personalize your experience through alt modes. As of right now, there are 3 alt modes you can run the tower through;

- slaughter mode: increased number of fodder enemies inside every room. Happy killing!

- modded mode: Mix up the roster of enemies or weapon pool with workshop mods! Go nuts!

- EXTREME MODE: The most brutal roster of enemies the tower has to offer! Beating this mode will provide you with a reward!

With all that being said, Do not expect to beat this on your first try. Not only could this custom level push you to your absolute limit, but it could also take you between 1 to 4 hours to completely beat this depending on how strong your character is and what mode you run through. (unless you have a 50+ imprint origin, then you'll probably blaze through it without breaking a sweat.)

WHAT TO EXPECT ON FULL RELEASE:

- 100 floors to put your combat skills to the test, each being unique visually and fundamentally.

- interesting lore and characters for people interested.

- completely polished and free from any game breaking glitches that would ruin the experience. This addon will not see the light of day otherwise.

- Some arena origins made to be ran through arena, then the Tower of MADNESS.

- A fully functional multiplayer system similar to campaign.

WHEN TO EXPECT THE FULL RELEASE:

- Tower of MADNESS has been delayed to February 24th, 2026. Details on why the delay will be provided here:

I will also be posting videos regarding my progress on my YT channel for anyone who is interested in that sort of stuff as well.

If you encounter any issues while playing this custom level, be sure to let me know in the comments below. Any and all feedback and bug reports are essential to molding this custom level to being the best it can be, especially since with the amount of stuff that I'm adding, tweaking, and removing from the custom level inevitably introduces new bugs and issues. Good luck and enjoy!

KNOWN BUGS:

- The squadmate spawner currently causes a glitch that, when spawning a squadmate in and then go through a loading screen, you spawn in as a grunt and multiple functions break throughout the level. fixing this glitch is currently beyond my capabilities and i've yet to find a good solution to it.

- AI pathfinding is completely broken in some of the rooms, and unfortinutely it may also be caused by another glitch. Trying to fix this one as well is currently beyond my capabilites as of right now, and the only thing I can do for it as of right now is to find work arounds to make it the best that I can.

Damn, This has to be the best criticism I've gotten on my custom level so far, and I absolutely appreciate your honest opinion on it. Though it'll probably be a little bit before it happens, I will absolutely work on Extreme mode to make it more fun!

One thing that does genuinely concern me though is that your attacks to stop working after an extended period of time. That is 100% a bug that I thought had gone away overtime, but apparently still exists. It's plagued the level since the very beginning and one that is completely outside my control. Did you at any point throw melee weapons at enemies and/or execute them with broken weapons? Those two actions are known for contributing to triggering the glitch. If you could describe your experience and encounter with the glitch in the discussions, that would be very helpful to figuring out what exactly is triggering it. Regardless, I do apologize that this ended up contributing to the problems you ended up facing in the custom level.

It’s not fun at all. I’ll never be playing Extreme Mode again — I’m going back to Slaughter Mode. It’s harder in a way, but still easier somehow. So yeah, I hope you don’t mind my honest opinion.
took me around four hours to get to level 11, and then I just stopped because I couldn’t hit enemies with melee weapons anymore. I don’t even understand why that happens — maybe it’s a bug, or maybe it’s meant to be like that. Either way, it made everything ten times harder. I tried to keep going, but it was useless. Without being able to use melee attacks, you just get surrounded and crushed in seconds. And honestly, after all that effort, I didn’t even feel angry — just tired. Extreme Mode feels more like torture than a challenge after a while. I love difficult games, but this one crosses the line between “fun hard” and “impossible.” Still, I’ve got to admit, it was kind of satisfying getting that far.

Stage 8 with Gestalt was fun, but also kind of impossible no weapons again, and with all those clowns and other enemies it gets crazy. Stage 9, I hated it, but in a way it was still good at least it wasn’t the same enemies over and over again like in other levels, where you get five clowns or five Hanks or three Doctor Crickets on level 1. The ghosts killed me, literally destroyed me I died at least thirty times on floor 9. And now floor 10, it was perfect —hard, but still doable with guns. The kamikaze enemies caught me off guard, but it was fun, and the other creatures you made on that floor were great. I won’t be playing Extreme Mode ever again, since it’s just too impossible. The only way I even got to floor 10 was because I had a gun with infinite reload. I don’t even know how I got that gun, maybe from the arena shop. It got boring too, using the same gun over and over, but if I’d used other guns, I wouldn’t have even made it maybe only to floor 5.

On the 11th floor on Extreme Mode, the Nexus floor, you can’t attack enemies with sword weapons, only with guns. The floor with the Phobos statue, and I gotta say, it’s harder but more fun. Slaughter Mode with 200 enemies is crazy, but Extreme one is ultra hard, almost impossible. Even one floor is doable, the second one too but a pain in the ass, the third one is okay, the fourth one sucks, the fifth too, the sixth one is impossible to beat without dying at least ten times. The seventh one is also impossible — how the hell am I supposed to fight fifty giants with one sword? Ten of them are at least big giants, the others are half-sized, and since they are, I think, your enemies that you made, they are ultra hard to kill. I have to dodge perfectly, because if one of them gets me, I’m gonna get grabbed again and again and again.

It's gonna be on the top floor, on the top right corner. Hope this helps.
