Plasma Weapons Redux

Description
What is this?
This is a prototype, that adds thermal incendiary plasma based weaponry.
Plasma Weapons are energy based weapons with the main purpose to ignite ships.

This 'redux' version was heavily inspired by the original Plasma Weaponry mod by XDERP7 and was released with his permission.

Features
The current items include:
  • Plasma Blaster Small:
    - Front mounted small energy weapon with decent penetration.
    - High firing arc, low bolt footprint.
    - Deals low damage, medium thermal damage and starts fires.
    - Can benefit from Thermal Amplication (in OC).
    - Minimal damage to shields but can overload them.
  • Plasma Blaster Large:
    - Front mounted large energy weapon with decent penetration.
    - Low firing arc, high bolt footprint.
    - Deals low damage, Large thermal damage and starts fires.
    - Can benefit from Thermal Dilation (in OC).
    - Minimal damage to shields but can overload them.
  • Plasma Missile:
    - a missile launcher choice that deals low damage, moderate thermal damage and ignites a large area.
    - must be connected and supplied with heat to function. Also uses TIP Missile parts
  • Plasma Missile Factory:
    - a factory to produce Thermal Incendiary Plasma (TIP) missile parts from iron and carbon.
    - The factory draws inspiration from my Standardised 4x4 Factories mod.
The blasters do very little to shields, they are an intentional hard counter... but then you have to purchase Disruptors to get to these, so.....
The blasters have a heat tank and can always be connected to a thermal network, though they only use the heat in OC mode. They can route thermal energy through the part.

All new sprites kit-bashed from existing game assets following the inspiration set out in the original mod.

The parts have tech and overclock purchase options for both Career and Build-and-Battle modes.
In career mode NPC ships and stations should stock and trade the plasma missile parts, although no enemy ships will be utilising the new weapons ... maybe one day some ships can be added.

The Model-P has been added to the career mode starting ship options, ready to go burning things to death all the way to Starwright difficulty.

I highly advise for PVP modes this mod be paired with my Fire Control Bunker . The amount of ship-wide fire these can produce is amazing!

~~ Confirmed working post MELTDOWN/SOUNDS update 0.30.1 ~~
Overclocking does some amazing things for the blasters!
In OC mode the blasters unlock thier thermal tank storage/usage capabilities. A new "Thermal Threshold" toggle is revealed that lets you set the level they will charge heat/thermal energy to before firing. The higher the setting the longer they take to charge but the more powerful the shots become, gaining both higher Thermal damage and a greater chance to start fires along the penetrated path.
The blaster weapons are very good at heat management and rarely overheat themselves...
The Small Blaster on OC can also utilise any Thermal Amplification pumps on the network to increase its damage and intensity.
The Large Blaster on OC can also utilise any Thermal Dilation pumps on the network to increase its shot size and spread.
Overclocking the factory has the same speed boost as vanilla factories.

Known Issues
Some key names might be duplicated in this version from the original.
For example, the missile toggle selection is still option 69.
-- For the above reasons it might not work alongside the original (I didn't test !)
I have meticulously renamed every UniqueID and Choice in this mod to no longer conflict with the original mod. The two mods can run together, although some parts are redundant, imo.
This version can NOT be used to auto-replace parts from the original mod.

I have not changed the Tech requirements in Career for Amplification/Dilation pumps. Meaning for the blasters to benefit you'll still need to go through the HUGE chain of purchases to get these.
The blasters have little indication that they can utilise pumps and the pumps themselves are unchanged. However, they do get the correct 'buff overlay' in build mode.

Balance concerns are always a thing, feel free to make comments and suggestions!
Just note any "it's too much fire" remarks will be swiftly ignored .. some people just want to watch the world burn.

Credits
Many thanks to XDERP7 for the original inspiration.
Huge thanks to Syy115 for help with the Threshold>FireChance stuffs.

~ Enjoy !! and please buy me a Cuppa Tea[buymeacoffee.com].

I understand that, but I thought it would fit well into your mod. I wanted to suggest adding plasma mines that open up and temporarily deal area damage upon activation, then dissipate.

Suggestions are best served to the Cosmoterr Discord in the modding thread, where many more modders will get eyes on the suggestion.

Can I suggest an idea for a mod? I just thought it might fit well into this mod

I heard you, thank you for taking the time to respond. I will be waiting for further updates, and I wish you a good day.

There is a plan to update the mod for overclocking, new fire mechanics, thermal shots and stuff.

A few things are holding me back on this right now though;
1) it's school holidays, I have 3 teenage kids, and a very hectic busy/full summer schedule
2) I have a lot of mods that also need updating, and this one being one of the most complex is getting saved 'for last'
3) I need some experience playing with Meltdown and overclocks to see what might be possible for these.

Is there any plan to add overclocking mechanics to existing weapons in the near future?

I really like this simple modification, but it gets lost in the present tense among the enhanced weapons. I would like to see alternative types of fire vision.
