The True Hero - Undyne/Undyne the undying

Description
Undyne from undertale, a zoner with an upperhand in mid ranged trades.
-she starts with 0 determination, you gain it by hitting the opponent with multiple attacks, this increase depends on how long your combo is, crit bar, how much hp difference there is (having lower hp than your opponent increases determination per hit and having more hp you gain less) spears also apply for these effects,you can use once of two supers, depending on your playstyle: defensive or agressive (PROTECT or PUNISH). these start draining determination to get truehero %. For example if you chose to increase your defense, you gain some extra effects but lose dmg, and vice versa. if you get 100% truehero you turn into UNDYING next time you are hit.
-Blue spears: you can set spears to throw them later, these spears increase determination by 2 + combo hits and do more dmg than yellow spears, the limit is 5
-Yellow spears: you can throw them and change it's direction mid air, it's really fast and won't dissapear until it hit's the opponent 2 times (including the throw)
PROTECT
you gain defense and lose damage, your spears are now stronger, having more dmg and -1 proration,
PUNISH
you gain dmg but lose defense, you also get + frames on some moves and lose - frames on others, pretty simple, this dmg boost doesn't seem like much until you land good combos. risk and reward
UNDYING
in the undying state your attacks do a bit of more dmg and have more range by default, blue spears limit increases to 7 and yellow spears limit increases to 3, the counter effect from PROTECT or PUNISH reduces drastically, if you chose PROTECT you'll heal double, the spears will turn bigger and will have more dmg too, if you chose PUNISH the lower defense won't only dissapear but you'll gain a little bit of defense..

-Crit Bar mechanic: it's constantly increasing, if you use an attack and hit, you'll get more determination the closer it is to the center, if you get a crit (48% to 52%) you get the most determination and also get a little bit of true hero%, you can see it under undyne
-Green Soul/ Special Green Attack: a super that costs 3 bars and 10 determination (on truehero it doesn't), combo only. It resets opponent's momentum each 10 ticks. while the opponent is on green soul state you spawn spears on their position excepting for yellow spears. Green Soul state lasts for 120 ticks

Cannot attack when I need to dodge spears. Cannot punish a whiff from the air, cuz she has big anti-air attack. Can't get to her without huge risk as a melee as her basic spear attacks reach really far with small frames. And even if I manage to hit a combo I will only do it worse, cuz' it would mean guaranteed second phase.

I can't really say what's wrong with this char, as it looks fine and intetresting to fight with. Thanks for new, yet brutal experience :slugcatdead:

The problem isn't really jumping the projectiles, it's following up with an attack after that's really hard to do. She can just spam them and you'll lose your air options fast, and she'll always have an advantage being on the ground. It's problematic because of how safe they are.

Undying state seems to be too easy to get to while being in the lead and destroying your opponent. It's really anticlimatic, unsatisfying and unthematic for the person that's losing to finally get any sort of hit in after being tossed around most of the game, only for Undying mode to interrupt everything (including the prediction) and play an unearned dramatic cutscene.

When I try to use it a second time, it appears invisible in the selector and the name says "Null" and then it doesn't let me play it.

having to force a jump or roll is not a good counterbalance to her dominating mdeium distance neutral. Not only is rolling usually a very bad idea, considering the enemy can bait it out once you do it too much (or risk getting blockstringed or pushed into a better position for undyne), but jumping can unnecessarily put characters into a weaker position, where undyne can just sin punisher or other anti-aerials with varying frames. also sucks when playing characters weak in aerial like yharim when you have to choose between getting disadvantaged or getting disadvantaged

Undyne is oppressive by the sheer number and reach of her attacks, without the range limitation of ninja, who has a similar niche with having unique DI mixups. Undyne had very large hitboxes in neutral, with multiple attacks that can hit at medium distance with little to no drawback to her trying to block string (no block negative block disadvantage on these kind of framekill moves)

While her projectiles are strong, I believe her melee attacks are even stronger. Against other melee characters, she dominates by sheer number of options for framekill.

would love to use this but would hate to fight it, will look out for balancing updates before resubscribing though
