Description
Update as of Sept 01, 2025

Added Feature: Added Spawn platform entities (Spawn Control)
These can be spawned under Spawnmenu -> Entities Tab -> WeNot
Has two modes:
1. GREEN MODE - It will be the position where NPCs will spawn, if "Enable Spawning on Platforms" is enabled
2. RED MODE – Marks the area as a no-spawn zone for the dynamic spawn (blocks NPC spawning in the area w/ configurable radius).
- Configurations to save the platform position and state, so in startup it will still be there

Added Feature: Wave Rest Time
- An option to have a rest time before the notoriety stars increase to the next star

Added Feature: Added Override Despawn distance
- If enabled, you can set the Despawn distance for all Wanted system spawned NPCs, overriding the dynamic despawn mechanic
- Example if you set the distance to 3000 will make all NPCs farther than 3000 to despawn

Others:
- Fixed NPCs not moving when they are in an area in the map where players cant see them (Usually NPCs can't track players if spawned too far away or no view of the target)
- Disabled Wipey by default
- Disabled notoriety loss when all tagged npcs are dead by default

*Hopefully nothing breaks**

NPC Killing will not be tolerated. Prepare to face the consequences of your actions...

About the Mod
Brings in a wanted system that when killing npcs, will increase your notoriety to that faction. Starting with low level threat level (1 star) to the highest threat level (5 stars), the factions will bring in reinforcements and will do everything to eliminate you. If you have played GTA or SaintsRow I'm pretty sure you would know how this works :3.

I wanted to expand Background NPCs feature of wanted system and make it so you could easily create factions of any npc (aircrafts might be buggy).

So prepare to fight against Five different factions of Half Life 2 NPCs if you decide to commit crimes against their people (or their monsters):

The Zombies - Provoke them and you would be facing the horde of zombies and headcrabs
The Resistance - do harm against your allies and youll be dealing with the group of rebels (and their leaders) armed with their makeshift weapons and hacked Combine technology
The Combine - The interdimensional beings that will use their fancy tech and tactics against you.
The Antlions - Killing enough and you would soon attract the hive's attention to swarm you.

And then there are those who don’t seem to belong to any faction at all and is best left alone—interfering with them may have… unforeseen consequences. D̶̪̪̳̗̅͐̒̌̎ͅǒ̶̤͎͈̃͂̀͊̒̿̐n̷̜͎̄̈́̂͑̕͝'̶̜̟̑̑̀͆͘͝ẗ̵̖͕̖̗̲͌ ̸̎͑̀̅́̄̀͜k̷̦͕͖̬̹͗̄i̴͓̩̪̲̓̿͆̑̾͠͝ͅl̸̪̞̼͆̾̄͆͝ͅͅl̴̞̥̞͑̓̏̄̾́ ̶̿̏̿͛h̷̢̡̪̖̘̝̞̠̾̋̍͝i̷̤̙̙͕̞̯̅̈́͐̎̀͆̚m̴̛̪͎̰̮̑́͛͒̑̽

Additional Factions if you're not satisfied yet:
Wanted System VJ Base Factions

You can also Create your own faction . Choose what NPCs to spawn on a certain threat level, etc. or use quick add faction if you're too lazy like me. Whenever I subscribe to a new npc pack, this is a fun way for me to get introduced and try fighting them! So far aircrafts like Helicopters and Gunships might not behave as expected when spawn

Key Features
- Wandering NPCs will start to spawn around the map (can be disabled in options)
- Do crimes (by killing wandering npcs) and prepare to fight against their respective factions.
- Experience fighting against the 5 factions (in the default preset) up to 5 stars . How long can you survive?
- Use the NPC Notoriety Tagger tool (Under WeTools) and tag npcs along to help you out in surviving!
- Or use the tool and tag npcs that will fight the factions to the death
- Lower down your notoriety faster by running and hiding, out-of-sight.
- Set an NPC as VIP that will wipe out notoriety based on needed kill
- Auto NPC cleanups. They will despawn when not actively hunting the player or is stuck.
- Works on any map with both NPC AI Nodes (required) and Navmesh (optional for npcs that need this for navigation)
- Create your own faction! NPCs placed in the same faction will fight together — even if they're from different NPC bases or would normally be hostile toward each other. Mix up those NPCs! Even works mostly with VJ Base , Zbase and DRG Base NPCs!
- Create custom NPCs as you make your faction, assign what weapon they hold, color, size, material and health.
- Too lazy to make your own faction? No Problem! Use the Quick Add Faction which uses an algorithm to make a ready-to-play faction in just few clicks!
- Presets to save your factions!

!! MUST READ NOTES !!
(1) Please play in multiplayer for full functionality

(2) Kindly read the Frequently Asked Questions before asking something. Thank you!

(3) DONT FORGET TO SAVE YOUR PRESETS!! ('Save Current List to Selected Preset') It will save the faction and custom classes you made. If you dont save it will be gone on server restart/changemap.

Mod Recommendation
Simple NPC Prop Attacking & Breaching (For a relentless pursuit through barricades)
Sandbox Weapon Shop (If you want some sort of progression while fighting)
Loadout Progress System (for roguelite progression)
Wanted System VJ Base Factions (More Factions! You don't need to make it work for VJ)

Like and Favorite if you loved it! ^w^

@dinogutt

Tick off the "enable notoriety" checkbox. Its just below the factionlist

Hello, just wondered if there is a way to makke notoriety not trigger when killing NPCs and let Wandering NPCs just keep spawning.

I found the problem. Out of the 260 mods I have, the pizza delivery guy was the culprit.

@Danifox17

Have you tried disabling all the other mods, and trying just this? while you're at it, type this in console: "developer 2" it will start to show debug stuff and If you can do the following:
1. After you type developer 2, start on a multiplayer server (not singleplayer)
2. Try activating the notoriety to 1 star (manually or kill something)
3. The console should start spamming a bunch of texts about spawning and I want you to copy and paste maybe 40 lines? (The more the better)
4. Do you see any debug boxes around when your notoriety is on? (green boxes or red boxes and lines towards your position)

This could help me troubleshoot through my spaghetti codes

Here is a list of what I have already tried:
* Configuring the spawn distance: I've tried all min/max distance settings, and I've also tried setting it in meters and what I believe are "Hammer units."
* Using spawn platforms: I've configured the mod to try spawning enemies on the platform and throughout the map, but it doesn't work.
* Editing faction settings: I've tried different spawn distances for custom factions.
* Testing in different environments: I've tested on different maps, reloaded them, and tried both singleplayer and multiplayer.
* Making sure the map has navigation: I've confirmed that the maps I'm using have both navigation nodes and a navigation mesh.

I'm having a problem with the enemy spawn feature of the mod. I've installed it today, and everything else seems to be working correctly: the notoriety system works (I gain wanted stars when killing the configurable wandering NPCs), and the factions become hostile.
However, the enemy spawn feature is not working at all. I've tried everything I can think of, but no enemies spawn on the map, and the console shows no errors. The NPCs I have killed were spawned manually by me, not by the mod's system. Any help would be appreciated.
