Description
I dont feel great about re uploading this since im not the original author but the original authors have given permission to use their stuff. Reason for the re upload is that people preferred the original TROM formula and less of the edits i have been making and i do not want to ruin any current campaigns with the part 5 i uploaded from 2024. For just this part being part 5, initially the mod only edited the faction tables to be aligned with another mod of mine, the flag & colors mod however, this part 5 will achieve the following modifications:

Minor Faction Updates: specifically to campaign color (for compatibility with my flag mod)

Battle weather & climate (My weather mod is basically built into part 5

Ai personality - how the ai manages budget & income. This part 5 is very character focused whereas my other part 5 has modifications but leans slightly less towards characters. This edit allows the Ai to consider using up to 40% of their budget on character vs the normal 25. If they reach 40, they will consider a few factors before making cuts and will attempt to avoid releasing and making decisions elsewhere to increase budget.

Unit Upkeep - i have two part 5's of TUP + TROM, this part 5 is closer to TROMs original upkeep
values but i made nanman more expensive since nanman is way overpowered originally

Unit Recruit cost - same as above basically minus i wanted it to be slightly easier to recruit units vs upkeep them.

Tax values are slightly adjusted - Tried to make raising or lowering taxes meaningful


TROM is the core formula still but this is the list i have so far. I have removed a few tables the alters how the Liu Hong mechanic works so this part 5 works extremely well with my Power and Politics mod Lite mod

My parts 1, 2, and 4 are a bit tricky as i wanted to not initially release those parts to respect the original authors. Therefore i never really kept track of the modifications but here is what i can tell you since i decided that those mods are far enough edited that its at least viable to be somewhat its own thing:

CEO Data - Character Title Salaries: nerfed by 1/4. Parts 1 & 2 CEO data match to prevent issues.

Ancillary weapon damage: nerfed by either 1/3 or 1/4

Character spawn timelines: Made most historical characters spawn in sooner. This is because I use a mod that prevents Generic generals from ever spawning in unless its for the nanman or yellow turbans.

No more character death via unfortunate events: made it so characters do not die unless in a recruitment pool for 999 turns

Ancillary weapon damage: Heavily nerfed, i believe to either 1/3 or even 1/4 their original values to make generals less dominant. (Even with this you can still see some generals are heavily OP but these edits tone it down a bunch)

As of 2025, this mod is more than just a patch but i have re worked so many items to be able to bring out a new flavor of TROM + TUP. This overhaul is centered around characters and AI factions retaining and prioritizing historical characters. Many changes have been made including reworking how the AI budgets for characters. Even with these changes, i have tried to keep TROM as the core mod in place, as much as possible.

I will have all the required items on the side. I will keep an eye on the [TROM + TUP] (Part 5) mod if they send out updates and update this mod as needed.

Compatibility:

Due to all the required mods and this being part of a giant overhaul mod, please be very careful adding any mods on top of the required mod list. Any added on content could throw off the game or have conflict issues. That said, i run a pretty large mod list myself so you are able to still add stuff on if you do so carefully and optimize the load order.

I cant say what causes the stutter. Even the original mod authors of TROM + TUP are aware of this and I believe they are stumped too.

If you find anything, i mean anything at all in RPFM that could help the stability of TROM + TUP, feel free to let me know or the original mod authors.

I have tried to figure out a few of the bugs but no luck. Thankfully this overhaul is playable, with mostly no campaign breaking components.

thanks for re uploading this awesome mods, btw i noticed that the stutter after clicking player's army is still happening. allthough whenever i switch to fast march stance, the stutter stopped. any clues of what might happen there? i checked the files in rpfm but couldnt find anything that might be the cause of the stutter. anyways, awesome job for the mods!

The goal for these tweaks is to keep Characters relevant and tough. I was tired of being able to win a battle with Zhao Yun who would get me 600 defeats and single handedly decide battles.

An established hero with a gold weapon should (imo) be able to knock off a few hundred militia. I was kind of hoping the most powerful heroes could knock off 200 militia before wavering or death; on the flip side, an established hero could still hold his/her own against an elite unit, knocking off around 100.

A common character with a common weapon would be able to take our 70-100 militia, and maybe 30-40 elite.

To everyone:

I did 1 battle to test out heroes being nerfed and had mixed results. I might attempt to add a little health pool back to all heroes. It was only one battle plus im trying to account for a few things.

Weapon Rareness
Hero quality
Unit quality
Hero specialization

The one battle i completed had all powerful heroes with gold unique weapons, against mostly militia units.

Xiahou Dun had 200 defeats but was destroying all archers.

Zhao Yun had 120 defeats facing mid tier units. He ended up dying right before the end.

Yu Jin had 90 defeats and was low health. He was roaming mostly around militia units and mid tier.

Cao Cao had 50 defeats and faced militia units and Guan Xing

Guan Xing, i cant recall his defeats. He was taken out early on by Cao Cao and Xiahou Yuan.

@RolandAlistair Thank you, im trying to keep up with it.

I have a vision for how i want this to play.

After today's updates, everything should be stable. Please report any bugs, crashes, etc. This mod will never be perfect due to the scale, but my attempt is to get it as close to perfect as possible.

Still working on heroes. I believe most heroes had a 24k health pool and i dropped it to 12k. I might up health to around 15k but for now it sits at 12.

A lot of edits have been made recently. If i broke any saves or crashing occurs, feel free to report here.

If your crash happens once, it could just be something less serious. If you get the same crash twice ever, that is my main concern.

I am releasing more updates on 08/03. So if your game does not work as intended, im in the middle of making more tweaks. Right now, heroes might be super weak. Im looking into keeping them tough but not overpowered.

@gotenian3 Only works with years 190, 194, 200. This is how the original TROM + TUP is set up and it would take a lot for me to get it to function on those years.
