Description
Now usable in B41 and Multiplayer!
In the case of almost certain death, you manage to push your body to go just a little longer.



What the heck is this?

This mod adds a trait called 'Perseverance' for a whopping +12 points. Expensive, but greatly useful.
When dragged down or surrounded by 2+ zombies AND Injured or High Exertion, your body uses the last of it's remaining energy.
This comes with the following effects:
  1. Divine Intervention? Luck? Who cares! Zombies surrounding you get shoved down for you, opening a possible escape!

  2. As your body burns its emergency supply, it can keep you afloat from death, passively regenerating health for 1 hour, replenishing your stamina, reducing your pain and fatigue. This unfortunately comes with extreme utter panic and stress from your brush with death. This will NOT save you from zombification.

After 1 hour, Perseverance fades, and reality becomes harsh.
This comes with the following effects:
  1. Now that you've pushed your body as far as it will go, you become exhausted. You'll be extremely exerted and tired, you will no longer regenerate, and high panic and stress linger.

  2. Your body is nowhere near ready to do that again. You won't be able to use Perseverance for 72 hours after use.

  3. Any pain you had before will start flooding back.



This is NOT intended to work in anything less than B41.0.0.

Partial credit goes to HypnoToadTrance's 'More Traits' mod for inspiration & reverse engineering.

Known issues:
-If the player is dragged down in multiplayer, the player will survive, but appear as a corpse to other players.
Unfortunately, until I can fix up the events and maybe add server-side syncing logic, this issue will persist until the player rejoins the server.

There is no system in place with Hypnotoad's traits. Both of the traits will activate at the same time, most likely.

Will this have a staggered activation with hypnotoad's more traits second wind? (eg this activates first, then more traits on the second attempt?)

I've always said to my friends that if you have a higher strength stat, it should take more than 3 zombies to drag you down. This is basically 100% what i mean right here even if knocking down more than 6 or 7 zombies is a bit ridiculous.

For what its worth as someone who uses the "last push" mod, I think there's enough of a distinction between the two. Credit where credit is due. I think this is a very cool idea, good work :steamthumbsup:
