Description
Drones just aren't for shooting and hauling goods! They can also rescue and heal injured colonists, and assist with farming, construction, and physical tasks.

This sister mod to Drones of War provides you with Medical, Farmer, Construction, and Labor Drones.

Medical Drones
  • Rescues incapacitated colonists and delivers them to an available bed. As long as their power isn't cut while doing so, there will be no interruptions, unlike colonists who sometimes decide they want to do something else during said rescue.
  • If the survivor is awaiting treatment in a bed and healing items are available, it can also heal them with the same healing skill (5) as the Surgical Bed.
  • They can be drafted so you can strategically place them near combat areas for faster pickup, should you be fighting a particularly risky and dangerous battle.
  • They have no combat abilities, so keep them out of the line of fire. To compensate, they have higher HP at 300 so they can take a few hits if necessary.
  • Increased speed compared to other drones.
  • Research prerequisites - Delivery Drones and Surgical Automations. Located under Science in the taskbar.
  • Additional cost with added metal and some carbon due to their large frame.
  • They use the same amount of power as their delivery drone brethren.

Note that your colonists will still try to rescue their downed comrades (can you blame them?), but the drones can override them once they're directed. To avoid this issue, using Jaggid's Task Master Mod, you can disable Rescue from the Activities list on the colonists you don't want doing that.

Farmer Drones
  • Will automatically assist with planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and irrigating (if you have lukeh_ro's Irrigation mod).
  • As lightweight service drones intended to only carry seeds, water, and dung, they only have 50 HP and are very vulnerable to any kind of damage.
  • Research prerequisites - Delivery Drones and Service Bots. Located under Science in the taskbar.
  • They cost the same resources and use the same amount of power as their delivery drone brethren.
  • They do not carry harvested resources to storage. You still need to have your Delivery drones handle that. This is intentional to ensure efficient harvesting and not take away a vital function from Delivery drones.

Construction Drones
  • Will automatically assist with building, repairing, and disassembling buildings and items.
  • Operates at a skill of Construction 8, so anything requiring 9 or 10 will need human hands to do so.
  • As lightweight service drones intended to only carry some construction materials and build, they only have 50 HP and are very vulnerable to any kind of damage.
  • Research prerequisites - Delivery Drones and Service Bots. Located under Science in the taskbar.
  • They cost the same resources and use the same amount of power as their delivery drone brethren.

Labor Drones
  • Will automatically assist with mining, cutting trees and plants, butchering, scavenging, and salvaging tasks.
  • Operates at a skill of Physical 5.
  • As lightweight service drones intended to only carry internal tools to perform their tasks, they only have 50 HP and are very vulnerable to any kind of damage.
  • They do not carry harvested resources to storage. You still need to have your Delivery drones handle that. This is intentional to ensure efficient harvesting and not take away a vital function from Delivery drones.
  • Research prerequisites - Delivery Drones and Service Bots. Located under Science in the taskbar.
  • They cost the same resources and use the same amount of power as their delivery drone brethren.

To do list:
  • Add the ability to store medkits within a Medical drone and heal outside of beds. May require SAD_CommonLib adjustment to make that work.

Some things are deliberately left out like cooking and crafting so your survivors still have tasks to do. A flying drone cooking food also seems a bit too silly to me. Sauce and steam would be flying everywhere with those rotary blades. Lol.

I recommend keeping ingredients, stoves, and meal storage nearby to a dedicated robot, if you don't have/want a survivor to do it. You can also use the mod here to alter the Service Bots' tasks, and set one or two to just cooking and nothing else.

Hello, why can't my drone operate devices such as induction cookers? The walking speed of household robots is too slow.

Cool, thanks! I'll give it a try :)

Sure can. Peace First just prevents any spawned attack waves from occurring. You're still good to use and build whatever you like, even weapons and turrets, just won't have any real use for them aside from attacking map spawned insect hives.

No conflicts with any other game rules.

Can this mod be used with the Game Rule Peace First (assuming I purchase and download the Robots + Guardians DLC)? If so, any conflicts with any of the other Game Rules?

The Butchering Unlocked for Labor drones was worth it especially if you play Military outpost now i can Butcher almost 1K insects in no time whitout having Harvest sercices Bots to do it Huge thx from me

Labor drones can now butcher. Did some long and hard thinking and opted to add this as a function to help with later game mob harvesting.

Lol, that's definitely one of the more annoying parts of the game. The engine just can't handle that many enemies, yet there they are. Slideshow mode.

I will check that one out I have been laughing that the AI has given up beating my defenses and decided to cook my cpu instead.

That's totally normal towards the end of the game. The waves get huge. And a fair point since the drone typically isn't available to folks until mid/late game.

I'd recommend checking out Insects Level Up All Species by Ark Builder btw, instead of getting a massive hoard of week enemies, this mod levels them up into smaller, stronger mobs.
