[Obsolete] Tier One Affinity Perk Shuffle

Description
-------------------------NOTICE-----------------------------
Since the latest content patch has changed the first tier bonuses to make them more effective, this mod is no longer necessary and will no longer be supported.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Shuffles the first tier affinity bonuses around to make more sense.

* Alien aggression cooldown perk moved from Harmony to Supremacy (Harmony shouldn't ever be killing aliens, Sumpremacy will be killing them when necessary, but not for a campaign of extermination like Purity).

* Explorer alien immunity perk moved from Purity to Harmony (first thing Harmony learns is how to move amongst aliens without antagonizing them, Purity shouldn't care about moving around without disturbing them, they're trying to exterminate them).

* Additional excavations perk moved from Supremacy to Purity (Purity is Old Earth, Old Earth is all about digging stuff up out of the ground. Supremacy is interested in looking forward, not backward.)

Should be compatible with any mod that does not alter these specific affinities.

Please see the notice I posted: "Since the latest content patch has changed the first tier bonuses to make them more effective, this mod is no longer necessary and will no longer be supported."

If you are not killing aliens for Harmony, and removing the aggression cooldown, you should consider adding a perk that allows your units to share spaces with aliens that way they can't attack or be attacked. My units get recked even when I go Harmony because I accidentally walk too close to a nest, or they just feel like attacking sometimes. On the same line make it so your units cant destroy alien nests at all....... but I have no idea how to code.... so I may be asking the imposible

the original setup would make more sense if the aggresstion rate would be higher, or the return to normal would be lower for everyone, cause I can go for a whole "farm aliens and hives for science" and barly get them out of normal without lvl 1 boost. Then again I still think this game is way broken with the ablility to get all afinities to at least lvl 15's with only science. and over max your primary.

Don't know if I agree with the logic on the excavations one. Supremacy is about using whatever you can to blend old earth and new earth...

@TheArchitect Thanks for your feedback, however I did not make these changes in order to make the affinites more balanced. I made these changes because I felt they made more sense themeatically. In my opinion, if a Sponsor wants to be able to explore without antagonizing the local wildlife, they would by definition be trying to live in harmony with their new environment.

This is a good idea. Feels like Firaxis doesn't actually have a solid grasp on their own affinities. Someone needs to define 'harmony' for them.

Actually, if purity has the perk that protects him agaisnt aliens, it's because it'll be more likely to have aggressive aliens and thus can't make any other exploration. I'm pretty sure it's a balance feature to not leave them out of the expedition theme.

Of course they can also kill em all, but that would be way farther in the game.

Fully agree with the changes myself from a thematic perspective... I will try playing to see how it affects gameplay. Still, thumbs up

@Reianor Thank you for your feedback.

And the thing about "Supremacy looking forward" is ridiculous. They are looking around for more, not looking forward. In fact, niether of the three are more (or less) formward or backward looking. They are all looking "forward" it's just that everyone's "forward" is different. Ones think it's in adaptation, ones think it's in retention, and ones think it's in exploitation.

The whole point behind supremacy - "if it's grabable and has no visible strings attached stop evaluating and grab it already!" so if anyone has no qualms about excavating anything that can be dug out it'd be them.
