[WOTC] SITREP: Operation Aftermath

Description
A recent Resistance operation in the AO turned it into a crumbling combat zone, leaving destruction in their wake.
Experience the aftermath of a fiery battle!

Adds 1 new Sitrep, Operation Aftermath, to the game.

HOW IT WORKS
When you start the mission, causes explosion events around the map at random locations,
placing impact decals and simulates projectile gunfire for these decals.

CONFIGURATION
You can configure the amount of explosions, their environmental damage and radius.
If you want, you can nuke the entire map!

COMPATIBILITY
Should be compatible with any other mod
I've attempted to make sure any units or objectives are not killed/destroyed or take any damage

KNOWN ISSUES
  • Destructibles like vehicles occasionally may not count as cover
  • No destruction happened at all
    - Loading a save should fix these issues
  • Barely any signs of impact at all
    - Most impact decals on surfaces are fading or barely noticeable
  • Map is intact when you arrive with Skyranger and everything blows up when you're on the ground
    - Limitations of the game, it's impossible to do it any sooner

Please put a comment if you encounter a bug, odd behavior or have any ideas for the mod
I've not tested the default configuration much, so if you have an idea for a
balanced configuration please tell me

Thank you! I hope you enjoy this mod!

I got the mod "Aftermath" to work with LWOTC by using the excellent "[LWOTC] Multiple SitReps and Categories (Reimagined)" mod. It requires to add the aftermath sitrep to the config file but this is quite easy as it is explained clearly.
However, my very first mission with "Aftermath" active was unexpected. I had to rescue rookies from an advent jail and extract them. Nothing complicated, except that the explosions from Aftermath destroyed all the stairs leading to the extraction zone.... As I said, unexpected...
I ultimately had to use a console command to deal with the problem.
But I like this mod, it is interesting. Maybe the mod creator could exclude stairs from the list of objects that can be destroyed initially.

So far, I am puzzled. The mod does load and does not generate crashes or hangs. But I don't really get the sitrep. I'm investigating.

Had the same problem with protect device mission; I had to force an update by resubscribing to the mod. Seems to work fine now. :sectoid:

Speaking of updates, ty! BUT...(always one of those, eh?) You really should populate the change log when you update to let us know what has actually changed.

OK thanks. I'll give it a try on a saved game and I'll report back after.

@Jestimac It should be compatible but I haven't tested myself
