The buttons open doors to ammo rooms, collect the gold blocks/tokens in the rooms. @Cliff

alright i got it. Dude that's so obscure lol. Stuff hidden in the walls that you need to interact with, except for some of them you just get close to them and then they trigger by themselves. Never would've figured this out by myself

tried everything, searched the entire map, played both missions etc. It's a mystery.
