Perpetual Crusades: The Valiant Souls Update!

Description
From the original creator (which is not me) of the very popular Metal Slug Domination mods, as well as GWO

Background Story
Perpetual Crusades is set in an alternative low-fantasy timeline that places itself within similar events to the Crusades. Set on the continent of Arnen, it features a multitude of races from humans, elves, and dwarves, to gnolls, loxodons and Felids. Set long after the fall of the hegemonic power within the world, The Romulius Empire, now, new powers emerge to fill the power vacuum left by the fallen Romulii empire.

Features
>Taking inspiration from various sources to help flesh out the unit and faction rosters, most units in this mod have model variants of the same unit, ensuring that you do not feel a sense of repetition with the unit flavour.
>Stackable upgrades accessible in the midgame and relevant into the late game.
>Instructor NPCs near your base to advise you on what to do for players who aren't familiar with the mod.
>Mid to late game faction specialization feature where you can choose 1 out of 5 specializations in order to buff a specific unit line up and gain special units.
>Unique hostile creeps that randomly generate across the map (triggered from starting units in the lobby as RPG).
>Evil Night mode (triggered from starting units in the lobby) that spawns hostile mobs to attack every player at night.
>Bosses and some elite neutral enemies.
>Faction exclusive AI-bosses that spawn after destroying enough buildings.
>Neutral Trading shops that spawn every night and have a chance to reward their destruction with an elf servant.
>More features can be found through gameplay...

This mod contains 4 factions
>Holy Apostolic Order
-A coalition of humans, elves, dwarves, dragonkin and nephilim united under one faith.
-Heavy inspiration from Christian mythology and various European knightly orders.
-Generalist faction with respectable offensive and defensive capabilities.

>United Caliphates
-A united front of gnolls, felids, loxodons, minotaurs and herbads under a common goal and god.
-Inspired by the Ayyubid Sultanate and creatures from DnD.
-A defensive faction with amazing defences but most troops are unarmoured but have high hp.

>Eastern Hordes
-An expeditionary force of gnomes, kappas, mushrooms, onis, vanaras, aakocras and kenkus united under one banner and ideology.
-Heavily inspired by the Mongol Empire, including East Asian folklore.
-An offensive faction with the best mobility, structures are not sturdy but they can be moved, units are solid across the roster.

>Legions of Tartarus
-A secret movement that has finally made its move upon the lands of Arnen, consists of various outcasted races, such as orcs and goblinoids, Drows, ararchnoids, and even demons from Tartarus, united under one banner but for diverse reasons and causes.
-Takes inspiration from various medias of evil factions
-An aggressive faction that heavily emphasizes expansion and damage over all else, their units are correspondingly fragile but they are able to dominate in terms of dps compared to other factions.

What's new for this update?

Gameplay
-Adds in the Valiants! similar to Heroes of other games, these units start out weak but can eventually become almost invincible with the right setup, hireable from a Guild Hall, costs 200 glory per Valiant.
-Guild Hall NPCs providing Valiants with items and consumables for use in battle.
-Tartarus portals can provide weak free units or cheap but disposable units.
-Mural, Shrine, and Statue units have been adjusted.
-Tartarus now has a Citadel, their equivalent tech building to Manors, Temples, and Palaces.
-Economic buildings can now only be built around strategic points.
-Palisades replace gatehouses, as well as doubling as a cheap early T0 form of defense.
-All defenses have been standardized across factions, with each getting 1 unique defensive structure
-Adjusted range unit performance.
-Adjusted melee unit speed.
-Some units have been replaced with alternate versions (previous updates)

-In order for neutral creep camps to spawn, turn on RPG mode in the lobby before starting a match
-Evil Night has phases, higher glory will activate evil night phases, with stronger and stronger monsters spawning

Graphics
-All swords have been slightly improved looks-wise
-Building healthbars have received a faction-exclusive look
-All factions have received minor and major graphic updates
-Order players now have their cosmetics manually chosen by the player (only 1 per match) that affects Knights, Guardians, and Paladins
-Tutorial NPCs have received a rewrite of their flavour text to hopefully improve their reading experience.
-New sound effects in some areas

Excerpt from in-game lore:
Matthew 10:34 Douay Rheims
"Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword"

DISCLAIMER AND CREDITS

From the Uploader
I would like to gravely apologize to everyone who have been waiting for this mod to update for months, real life took much of my attention from being able to consistently give updates on the status of this mod's development, in truth, several major updates have occurred in the time between this mod's privatization (which was when I was supposed to start updating this page) up to this current and final update for Perpetual Crusades

I had waited too long for a more finalized version of Perpetual Crusades to be made before I felt it appropriate to update the preview images and description of this mod page, leading to immense delays, and with my school taking up what time I could have used, due to this I was not able to upload the Gameplay Overhaul major update which brought too many changes for me to fully cover here, which also included major graphic overhaul (again) as well

I feel that I have robbed the Steam players of this mod the chance to provide feedback and suggestions so again I apologize, there will be no further updates to this mod according to the developer Eisen, only bug fixes will be done, any gameplay decisions are final and cannot be negotiated, I hope you enjoy playing the mod as much as I have.

This mod was uploaded to Steam with the permission of the amazing mod author, Eisenherz95, all credit goes to him and those who helped him create this mod.

The discord can be found through the main RW discord server, look for E.H. RW modding agency with a green icon

Is there a discord?

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who is supporting this mod upload, I am not the one who made this mod, just someone who volunteered to upload it here to Steam so more people can enjoy it as much as I do.

It really is enlightening to see how many people say they like the mod, and how many have grievances with the balance, you're all a crucial component in the development too so I thank those who have brought up their issues in terms of balance, we promise that the balance will be tuned to a state where everyone can play fairly and have fun with on a semi-competitive field.

The next update is coming very soon from Eisen, it will mostly be a graphics update with updated unit sprites/graphics for the Order, Caliphate, and Horde, who needed it to match the quality of the units from Tartarus.

Next update after graphics will be a balance one, the comments here have been helpful in the push for this, more details after the Graphics Update.

Also repair speeds are way too high, a group of catapults can't even beat one builder.

Hey, having units move in a line formation causes pathing issues. It gets to the point of Starcraft 1 goliaths and dragoons. Might want to consider using the default formationless movement.

Pleaseeeeee nerf the sucubbus, they are way to overpowered. Had an army of 35 armoured horse riders from the dessert faction, they all lost against 6 sucubbus. My army value - 9000, his 4800. How is that fair
