World Presets

Description
-- IMPORTANT --
Load order matters a lot with this one. Especially if you're using worldedit 2.0 or similar mods. If you're unable to see the load presets screen then try to alter the load order in the mods list.

--- This mod will enable you to ---
Save and load a startup world which includes any modifications made to the world, it's settlements, it's factions, ideologies, etc.

This mod isn't very useful by itself. But is rather meant to be used together with other mods that might cause you spend a lot of time on the world map changing stuff before starting a game. With this you should be able to save those changes and load them for use again when starting a new game without having to redo it all.

I made this primarly to complement my other mod:
Faction Customizer

The preset files are stored and loaded from: c:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\WorldPresets\

Update: I have moved this mod to my main steam account. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. As there is currently no way to transfer ownership of a mod through workshop. So deleting the old workshop item and creating a new was the only way.

@bing bong 멍청한 병신: Ah, that usually happens when you have a mod that somehow interferes or adds stuff to the save/load procedure. So you probably have a mod that makes it so that you can't load the saved preset. There isn't much you can do about that since mod load order probably wont help in that case.

You can try toggling on dev mode in rimworld options. Then you will probably see whatever error that happens when you try loading the preset.

I try to avoid fixing compatibility issues with other mods, since there are like a million of them out there and I’d probably end up doing nothing else if I did.

which side should i put this mod in the load order ?
i fiddled and i managed to get the load screen appear but when i try to load one of my saved worlds i just puts me back instead of fully loading the world

@bing bong 멍청한 병신: You should get the option to do so after you've started a new game. If you don't, then you probably have a mod that is conflicting with WorldPresets.

@Military Commandant: I've added "advanced settings..." button to my "load presets" screen. Should solve the issue, wasn't very hard to do luckily :)

@Military Commandant: I'll see if I can implement some kind of workaround as soon as I'm able. But during this time of year I'm rather swamped with work so it might take awhile :/

Hi! I've been using this mod for a long time and I can't imagine my game without it. When switching to version 1.6, the map size and season selection screen was moved to the general world generation screen. As a result, when choosing a preset with modified season and map size settings, the map, despite the specified parameters, is generated with the default settings. Is there any way to fix this?

@Azravos Ok, It was My Little Planet causing the error. I disabled Realistic Planets but that did nothing, then I disabled My Little Planet and that fixed it. It's weird because World Presets would save the planet size from My Little Planet in 1.5

AlphaHawk59: Ah, based on what i see in the log. The problem is caused by either the mod "mylittleplanet" or "Realistic planets" or both. This kind of conflict is probably unavoidable if one or more mods are tampering with the same planet generation/load mechanics in the game that my mod also does to make preset loading possible.

Try to run the game without one or both of those mods and it should work. (Keep in mind though that presets saved with those mods active still might not be loadable even if you were to deactivate those mods. As i suspect they could be altering planet data too much for it to be compatible with the games default planet generation)
