The Mask

Description
Item: SCP-035, or: The Mask

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-035 is to kept in locked room with a wide variety of headwear to choose from. No other headwear or face coverings are to be allowed onsite. Personnel requiring glasses are to be relocated to another site. SCP-035-1 instances are to terminated immediately, with SCP-035 removed and returned to its cell.

Description:
SCP-035 in its dormant state will take the form of a an ordinary article of headwear. When a subject equips the dormant SCP-035, it will activate, overwriting the consciousness of the subject, hereafter referred to as SCP-035-1. Instances of SCP-035-1 are hostile, and possess extreme strength. Removing SCP-035 from an active 035-1 instance will immediately kill the instance.

An active SCP-035 that has been removed from an instance of SCP-035-1 will eventually return to its dormant state, taking the form of nearby article of headwear. The time taken to return to its dormant state has been recorded to vary between 30 seconds and ██ hours.

Addendum 035-01:
The above document has been modified from the original:
The above document describes SCP-035 as it will appear in-game.

Addendum 035-02:
Originally posted by Dr. █████:
I would encourage personnel to re-read the description in full, even if you are already familiar with prior revisions.

Addendum 035-03:
At the beginning of the round, a random item of headgear gets 'infected' with SCP-035. When a player equips this item, the 'infected' item will transform into either the 'Comedy' or 'Tragedy' item. There is no difference between the two; both will convert the wearer into SCP-035-1 (the monster form).

When the item ('Comedy' or 'Tragedy') is removed from player, it will disappear after a random amount of time and 'reinfect' another item of headgear. The minimum time is 30 seconds, after that, every thirty seconds there is a 1/10 chance of it 'reinfecting.'

There is no way to tell which item has been 'infected' by SCP-035. If you must know, you can enable __DEBUG__ in mask.lua
if CLIENT and Game.IsMultiplayer then return end __DEBUG__ = true

Why is it like this? If it were just an ordinary item, there would no incentive for the player to put it on outside of trolling/griefing. I figured this was a good way to make containment an actual challenge on more serious servers.

sorry it took so long, personal stuff got in the way. now theres a configurable chance for spawning during campaign mode. default is 20% which might be too high dpending on your preference

Can we get a version that has only a customizable % chance to appear on each round? I wouldn't want it every round on campaign but like 5-10% would keep us on edge.

Does it infect masks or helmets that people are already wearing? Or is it only items that aren't in someone's inventory?
