AR's Reforged Eden 2.0 Series

Description
The Honeybadger is the smallest Full-service Battleship ever created for Reforged Eden 2.0, and the smallest there ever will be. Created specifically to capitalize on stealth and cunning, The Badger is just 4 targettable blocks tall, while holding the maximum amount of shield components allowed in the config, combining massive shield strengths, with unheard of avoidance and hiding abilities, this is a Small ship with Big potential.

The Badger is so small, It comes as a highly effective Core7 Attack ship, with no special part requirements. & can scale all the way to Killing Tovera Dreadnoughts as just a Core9-10, a simple feat for this ship.

Being as Nimble as it is, with Omni-directional full speeds, and numerous, large armored compartments, the airframe is ideal for repurposing... Want an Armed Excavator-turret miner? It'll do that. Want an armed Dropship? It'll do that, too. Due to its low relative weight, and truly huge internal capacity, the Badger can fill many roles with only simple modification.

This is a "Side-attack" ship, it is made to close distance fast, and attack from blindspots. It is also more than a Dozen xeno blocks thick at the front, with the option to add more layers internally. The Honeybadger will soundly kick the crap out of infectors in it's stock version, it has an 80,000 Hitpoint shield as a Core7. With some care in handling, and an intermittent shield-recharge, I easily downed a decimator with it, as well.

Zirax Frigates? Corvettes? Destroyers? Dead Dead Dead. Easy fights for the Badger.

& When you've killed everything else, The Tovera awaits you.

Enjoy.

Which is the better attacking CV the Honey Badger or the Sabaton?

Picked this up for my started combat CV and it performed well. Some initial upgrades I did before taking it out:

* Stock power levels are unsafe for combat without upgrading to a small fusion reactor.
* I'd recommend using the freed-up space from the power upgrade for cargo as it's quite low to start.
* I also added a fridge and armor locker to the cockpit area.
* I upgraded to a radar array, which required removing some of the particle emitters on the rear.
* I swapped the plasma cannons for laser cannons. Plasma damage is much lower vs everything, and while it hurts to not have the splash, I've been able to be accurate enough to get by without it.

With those changes, it easy killed Zirax T0-T1 (Cutter, Corvette, Carrier, Frigate) and finished a T2 (Destroyer) without too much trouble. I stopped there for upgrades, because the firepower jump to T3 is pretty high and I'm already down to a few seconds of shield time.

For T3+ I'm working on:
* Add two superior extenders for 4 quantum proc.
* Add 4 adv shield (2 cap, 2 charge) and 2 basic shield (2 cap) for 120 cap with 1.46% / 68s charge.
* Add 6 EMP cruise turrets and swap the lasers for cannons to pick back up explosive damage without the need for shield damage.

I expect that should be able to easily deal with T3 and hopefully kill the Tovera.

Strategy generally has been to take out enemy Shields > Thrusters > Cores, though I imagine with the Tovera I may need to take out some turrets as well.

Still an amazing ship, at Core 7 this is an insane bargain, should be everyone's first ship

This Is the best Combat CV in the game, It beats all of RE2 content at C9.

@ArtemisRouge ah thanks, I’ve got a lot of ships I need to go take templates of lol
ArtemisRouge  [author] 9 Nov, 2024 @ 9:14am
Tree that's a game bug, not a bug with this particular ship. When you spawn in any ship you now need to save the template, ships no longer have a 'default' template as they should, template must be saved after spawning it in or you will get that bug w/ any ship.

Brought this in last night and think it’s great. I put it on a repair pad and it’s showing a huge list of stuff to repair to original template - is my game bugging out or was the template taken with a lot of extra parts maybe? Wondering if I should run a deconstruct script on it and bring it in again to get a fresh template
