Anti-Air: CIWS(Close-In Weapons System)

Description

Add two types of CIWS(Close-In Weapons System) that act as anti-aircraft guns.


  • Gatling Anti-Air CIWS
  • Missile Anti-Air CIWS


To use it with the CE mod, you need to enable "Enable CIWS" in the CE mod configuration.

CE patch for 1.6 is currently not supported.

yeah not working well doesn't shoot down mortars works for some rockets but the dev poped up with bunch of errors

love the description, no specifics whatsoever or what the guns target and if they have chances to miss or if they also shoot down allies drop podding in or shells from mortars

When loaded with CE in 1.6 this causes the debug menu to not open, literally just load those 2 mods and you should see the problem or at least know what to do. And I know its not supported on 1.6 yet, but thats my mistake, but also a valid bug for you to fix. Hope it helps

Also I mean no offense as well - this is a great mod to have for the Phalanx and SeaRAM turrets with their anti pod and anti projectile capability. I am just surprised by how big the difference is against drop pods and was not sure if this is intended behavior or otherwise.

@GimNyeong What's the expected interception capability against drop pods? For some reason in my tests, 4x Gatling turrets beat 4x Missile turrets in regards to intercepting drop pods for me, as they seem to have a higher hit rate. The missile turrets fire many missiles off but they explode like flak often. The gatling turrets will generally connect shots against the pods just as they slow down near the end.

Ignore the resources on the ground, I am using god mode + deleting and rebuilding the turrets to check.

No CE.

I was surprised that they are great at intercepting mortars (including ones fired by one's own colonists so must disable before using) but drop pod raids I found that even 2 gatlings+missile turret failed to intercept more than 1 pod out of 20+ that came down.

@GimNyeong, you shouldn't apologise. Thanks for your fantastic work. I've done a few tests (a lot, actually). The problem is that the Gatling-guns just can't react fast enough. I have 12 guns, but rarely do even 4 of them react to the target at any angle of attack.

Could you please speed up their reaction a little or increase the detection zone of incoming projectiles? If it is possible to add this sliders for the gun settings - that would be great.
