Description
Two new pantherine xenotypes for your RimWorld. Meet the fearsome jaguar-like Onca and the reclusive, enigmatic snow leopard Uncia. Both come with their own factions, graphics, namepacks, and new genes.

This mod was commissioned on the mod marketplace by Gucci Pooch. Code by cyanobot, art by Halituis Amaricanous.

Designed to work smoothly alongside Just About: Lions and Tigers, the Onca and Uncia both share several of the genes from JALT (used with permission!).

Onca

The Onca xenotype embodies the fusion of human resilience with the primal prowess of the ancient jaguar, meticulously crafted to thrive amidst the untamed wilderness of rimworlds, where dense jungles pulse with life and danger. Born from the melding of human and jaguar DNA, Onca individuals are towering figures, exuding an aura of imposing strength and agile grace.

In their semi-homogenous societies, Onca communities leverage advanced information technology to augment their existence, blending ancient instincts with modern innovations. However, behind their technologically-enhanced facade lies an inherent wariness, a testament to their untamed ancestry. With sinewy muscles rippling beneath their skin, Onca possess formidable physical might, instilling fear in those who dare to cross their path.

Navigating the enigmatic landscape of their psyche requires delicacy, for beneath their stoic demeanor lies a primal ferocity ready to be unleashed. Thus, it is prudent for outsiders to swiftly establish amicable relations with the Onca, lest they find themselves facing the wrath of a race forged in the crucible of jungle survival.

Uncia

The Uncia xenotype epitomizes a captivating fusion of human and snow leopard DNA, emerging from the annals of a distant planet's scientific experimentation. Echoing the enigmatic essence of their feline counterpart, these beings exude an aura of introversion and elusiveness, naturally gravitating towards frigid, high-altitude landscapes, earning them the evocative moniker "ghosts of the mountains." Preferring solitary or familial enclaves over bustling communities, the genesis of the Uncia remains shrouded in mystery, a subject of speculation and legend, purportedly stemming from the enigmatic endeavors of a visionary but eccentric geneticist with a peculiar interest in martial arts movies.

Genes
New

Snow Veil
Complexity +1
Metabolism -1
Carriers possess an instinctive understanding of how to use falling snow to best effect as camouflage. During snowfall they seem almost preternaturally agile, avoiding enemy blows with ease.
During snowfall, +30% melee dodge and +20 hunting stealth.

Jaguar Strength
Complexity +1
Metabolism -2
Wild felid genetics in the carrier's endocrine system allow them to periodically release a burst of strength-boosting hormones that temporarily double their melee damage.
Activatable ability usable every 2 days grants 200% melee damage for 6 hours.

Secretive
(Replaced with Reduced Raid Presence if Alpha Genes is loaded)
Complexity +0
Metabolism -1
Carriers of this gene are naturally inclined to discretion and secrecy. Rumours of their wealth and achievements are therefore far less likely to spread.
The pawn's individual wealth value (from stats, implants, etc) counts for only half as much when determining incoming raid strength.

Tox Vulnerability
(Replaced with the Alpha Genes equivalent if AG is loaded)
Complexity +0
Metabolism +2
Carriers of this gene are highly susceptible to toxic buildup from all sources including polluted terrain, toxic fallout, tox gas, and direct attacks with venom or injected poison. They'll gain toxic buildup 1.5 times as fast as others.
Toxic Resistance -50%

Shared with JALT

Nine Lives
Complexity +3
Metabolism +0
Archite Capsules +1
Carriers of this gene experience a growth of separate nerves only loosely attached to the primary nervous system. The extra sensory information processed by this secondary set of pseudo-thinking flesh is incredibly specialized towards avoiding danger, automatically forcing the body into motion to avoid nine attacks. But the tax on the nerves is great, burning themselves out on the ninth application and requiring time to regrow after.
The pawn may dodge Nine attacks as if they never hit. The Gene cannot doge explosives and Gas attacks. Extra lives take a month to regenerate.

Pride Hunter
Complexity +1
Metabolism +1
Carriers of this gene develop new endorphin triggers. Due to eras of natural hunting of prey, the carrier's brain is adjusted to enjoy the act of hunting itself as a biological imperative to capture food without the potential lethargy of linking the same pleasure to eating. With this gene it becomes much easier to remain in high spirits if the carrier is able to participate in hunting activities.
+20 Hunting Stealth, +5 mood while hunting.

Feline Claws
Complexity +1
Metabolism -1
Carriers of this gene develop sharp, reinforced claws at the end of their uppermost limbs. Developed as a natural weapon to take down prey and fend off predators at the same time. These claws have grown stronger and stronger against thick hide and armor. The technique of following up a melee blow with a savage clawing increasing the armor penetration of any close range strike the carrier performs.
x170% Melee Armor Penetration, x90% Manipulation

Adrenaline
Complexity +1
Metabolism +1
Carriers of this gene gains an Adrenaline rush after every kill. making the carrier more alert and focused. the rush ends when the user falls asleep, or gets knocked out.
+10% Blood Filtration per kill

@veskaida they're cats. just add a small amount of extra dodge chance.

9 lives is pretty crazy strong too, but I love the feline-flavor and don't see an easy workaround with the current design space of Archite Genes. IMO it could use a nerf and disabling the 'regeneration' of charges is probably the simplest fix. That keeps it very strong, but at least there is 'some' drawback long-term. I also think it is a bit strange how "9 lives" can end up with 'more' than 9 charges given enough time. So maybe it could 'both' count charges (e.g. only have 9 charges 'ever' across that pawn's life), but only say, 1 charge at a time (regenerating a new charge once per month, until that life-time-cap of 9 is met).

Some pretty fun and creative design space for these new genes. My favorites are Snow Veil and Adrenaline, both extremely powerful but with interesting limiters/drawbacks.

Personally I think Jaguar Strength is the biggest issue: 2 days just is not that long of a cooldown, and 2 hours is longer than needed for most raids/events. I becomes especially strong with better melee weapons (uranium maces, bioferite swords, etc). IMO I think it would be fairer to have a longer cooldown (e.g. 4 or even 6 days), or have less effect, or have more of a metabolic cost.

that nine lives thing is super overpowered, no wonder the raid was only five people
