Description
BACKGROUND
The R.S.V. Atomica is OMUA's first nuclear reactor powered SAR (Search & Rescue) mothership, based on the Avala platform and built in 2024. The generator and nuclear reactor are developed by PRO Systems, and have been specifically suited to the Atomica. OMUA (Oceanic Marine Underwater Agency), is a (fictional) multinational marine and research agency, and the SAR division is widely known for its extreme life-saving operations.

Designed specifically for extreme search & rescue operations requiring a quick deployment, the Atomica can deploy rapidly and serve as the base of operations for missions in all types of weather conditions. Equipped with the latest stability controls, ballast systems, advanced AP, warning systems, GPS position hold, and more, the Atomica can withstand hurricane winds and travel through ice fields. The rear helipad houses a Martol 25 VTOL, and the stern cradles an ABM 10X RHIB with built-in fire suppression capabilities. A SAR SAAP C-X sea scooter completes the equipment, and allows for diving rescue operations.

The RHIB and helicopter can signal the Atomica, starting the engines and summoning the vessel to their current location. The Atomica was built as a luxury vessel in as well as a work ship. The vessel contains private luxury living quarters, a mess deck with pool table and bar, a sundeck with hottub, an survivor bunk room, a conference room, a laboratory, an infirmary, and a dive room. As with all OMUA vessels, all systems are designed to be operated by a 1-man crew, in case of emergencies. A standard operations crew of 12 and up to 25 other staff.

INSTRUCTIONS
Then turn the engine start key and the systems start key.

TIPS
  • The ship is designed to be able to be disembarked with a helicopter or skiff while it is on Autopilot. The AP system has a timer to allow disembarkation, as well as a toggle-able "Boat Launch Sensor" and "Helipad Landing Sensor" that allow for your return onto the ship assuming it has not reached its destination and stopped. These toggle-able buttons enable a laser, that if crossed with your helicopter or boat, will stop the ship, allowing you to board.
  • If the heli or RHIB are taken more than 2km from the mothership, the vehicle may disappear and leave you stranded. This is a known glitch of Stormworks.

While a good suggestion, this is a peacetime ship, so the addition of armaments or defenses does not really fit with the vision of it!
NEODIS 2 Oct @ 3:16am
you should add some anti-air or stuff like that because its hard to survive with search and destroy DLC, but still one of my favorite ship!

the changes are already here indeed, atomica has been improved a LOT!
Fogest 24 Sep @ 10:46am
@Prokiller Oh I thought based on the YouTube video just released today, that the new changes are already there?
Prokiller57681(PRO-Systems)  [author] 24 Sep @ 10:05am
Nope, Old microcontroller updates by 454ss himself. But also something with the stabilizer. The Reactor is finished untill another overhaul comes in a few months maybe.
Fogest 23 Sep @ 6:25pm
I see a lot of recent updates, has this been the upgrades that have been discussed?
Prokiller57681(PRO-Systems)  [author] 20 Sep @ 2:36pm
The reactor is not the limit here, And the reactor only is updated logic wise and a little on the turbine piping to gain efficiency. But the rest is the same. If you would 'unlock' the reactor you could technicaly go over 80knots.

The reactor is a military grade reactor, it was first build for one of my naval vessels. But it lost it's purpose so the reactor moved to atomica to refit the outdated reactor that was installed before.

If you want you can add me and I can show you how the reactor works but also at max capacity.
Fogest 18 Sep @ 5:08pm
Ah I see, so the limitation is essentially the reactor, and how much power you can get out of it.

It's pretty impressive extra speed gains from a new reactor! I assume it's essentially the same kind of size as the previous one?
