BattIePatch: Enhanced Bioregeneration

Description
V1.6

One of the best things about RimWorld is the number of ways you can tackle any given problem, though a notable exception to this is losing body parts. Missing organs can be harvested from prisoners, of course, or replaced with artificial variants, and missing limbs can also be replaced by artificial versions, but that is the extent of options the game gives you.

In contrast, the vanilla Bioregeneration cycle of the Biosculpter Pod is almost punitive. It takes 25 days by default, needs to be provided with nutrition, and needs to be powered for the duration leaving it susceptible to Solar Flare, Eclipse, and Zzztt... events. In addition, the Biosculpter Pod is locked behind two research projects and the Bioregeneration Cycle is locked behind two more, meaning it is not something most players will be able to grab on a whim. All of that time and commitment, just to fix a scar or replace a finger.

This mod changes that by making sure any part that is missing from a pawn that enters the machine and has not been replaced by an artificial limb is restored. This will restore any body part, though keep in mind that some missing parts will kill a pawn outright - such as the brain or heart - and thus there is no need to fix them. If you have some other mod that allows a pawn to survive without these parts for long enough to enter a Biosculpter Pod (or were unlucky enough to have a Sanguophage's heart be destroyed) then this mod will let the Bioregeneration Cycle restore it.

Sound to good to be true? No worries! This mod comes with options to increase the number of days in the pod from the default 25 to 30, increase the cost of Glitterworld medicine from the defautl 2 to 4, or both! These options are enabled by default.

Please note that this mod will not restore any body parts added by another mod (e.g., a "tail" part, or a second head, or tentacles not added by Anomaly, etc.). If you let me know in the comments the mod's name and which part the Bioregeneration Cycle failed to restore, I will try to create a patch!

Changelog 1.6:
  • Fixed issue with bioregeneration removing psylinks

Changelog 1.5:
  • Added a setting that allows you to cure all minor conditions (hearing loss, cataracts, frailness, etc.) in one cycle.
  • Added a setting that changed the bioregeneration to only heal one missing major body part (like arms or organs) per cycle.
  • Changed bioregeneration cycle to never heal ritual scarifications if the pawn has an ideology that prefers them.
  • Added options that control whether scars will be healed if the pawn has an ideology that prefers scarring. Options include never healing any scars or only healing major scars or scars that cause them pain. If a pawn is a masochist, they will additionally keep minor scars that cause a low amount of pain.

Agree! Glad I'm not the only one!

I don't understand why vanilla isn't like this by default.

25 days is already bad enough and too susceptible to interruption in elecricity, but also needing to provide nutrition, 2 glitterworld medicine? Makes the whole system completely useless.

And redundant when you consider unnatural healing.

@Kateye So strange! I'll have to look into it, because I can't imagine VPE would change something so important.

It's happening again. Did VPE change the ID?

FIXED! I updated it so there is a special exception for psylinks, and you were right about VPE adding their own so I patched that as well. It shouldn't matter what order you have it in other than placing this mod after VPE.

Got it! Okay, well Faster Biosculpter was compatible in 1.5, I'll confirm that's still the case and test the other one also!

@BattIeBear No, my issue is NOT caused by that. I don't even have VPE. I was referring to the double psylink mentioned by @LordvonNichts.

@interlamer I can test w/ Vanilla Expanded Psycasts when I get home, if that's the mod causing the issue I should be able to make a patch this weekend 👍

Also, @LordvonNichts if you're reading this: The two psylinks are the result of Vanilla Expanded Psycasts. It hides the hediff for the vanilla psylink and puts its own in instead.
