The only AI left on the map if all the variables are disabled are the 2 start A10 planes which are required for the camera intro to work, with only 2 AI, this should not be impacting performance at all! The current system that is being used is similar to Alive, AI is only spawned when players get within a certain distance of their spawn points, then they are despawned as players leave the area. Make sure you disable the background AI as well (under Ambient, this will disable most of the other aircraft and boats moving around). The background smoke and tracer fire you sometimes see shouldn't tax systems too much but there are a few of them dotted around the map.
Its been months since I actually last touched the mission, but I intend to go back to it once the next Arma 3 expansion is released and I can program a new race for the new Tanoa map hopefully, during which time I'll take another look at the AI and see what I can do.
